Air Transat starts Toronto - Brussels in 2008.

Post by Atlantis »

I saw today a topic on A.net about Air Transat plans in 2008. I have also checked Air Transat site before posting this. A.net is not always reliable.

With the next summerseason, Air Transat is going to start with the Toronto flight via Montreal to Brussels. There will be one flight a week. So, this is a stop over flight, not a direct flight.

It seems that it will be busy between Belgium and Canada next year.
Daily flights of Jet Airways to Toronto, 3 flights a week to Montreal with Air Transat and one week flight of Air Transat to Toronto.

Isn't this a yearly seasonal flight? I saw the Air Transat today at BRU as well...

Any chance to get an A330?

Would be good to see this Toronto flight as a fourth weekly flight, even if it is only during the summer season: 3 flights to Montreal and 1 additional flight to Toronto via Montreal. However, it might also be that the third flight that has been offered during the summer season of 2007 will be turned into a flight Toronto-Montreal-Brussels. Who knows ... :?:

Last year, I received from my contact person in Montreal, that in 2007 a Belgian airline had the intention to start up flights to Montreal on a daily basis. One year later we know better.

Brussels Airlines is going to deploy their fourth A330 for their African routes. Good choice, they are the money maker.

I think that the flight to Montreal is now in the fridge. There is a rumour that they are looking for a fifht long haul airplane. But when and what kind of routes is unknown, for me at least.

Its still the A310. But it can change, like this year we have seen twice an A330 on the route Montreal - Brussels.

I read in a presentation of Macquarie Airports they try to attract also Air Transat for a Vancouver-Brussels link. Seems not to be for the summer season though ... :(

Don't worry about that. In the Macquarie presentation, section Airline marketing, presentation Leon Verhallen, they speak about long haul opportunities between 2008 and 2011.

Air Transat is indeed linked to Vancouver.

Off topic now but interesting:

American Airlines linked to Boston and Dallas
China Airlines to Bangkok
Jet Airways to Los Angeles
Emirates to Dubai
Hainan to Shangai
Singapore Airlines to Singapore
JAL or ANA to Tokyo

Brussels and Boston really need to be linked again, when Sabena used to fly to Boston their daily flight was quite full, at least every time I took it  I think AA could easily fill a 757 every day.
Cheers
