Found this on A.net - apparently, a press briefing was held yesterday by Mr. Goyal, also briefly touching upon the BRU plans ... He now mentions 8 destinations in India to be connected with BRU ...
(excerpt copied below)

From Naresh Goyal's press briefing yesterday.

Loads on BOM-EWR are 95% and EWR-BOM are 50%
9W claims 25% of India-UK market despite being an O&D carrier

Difficulties in getting slots at AMS, FRA and CDG

JFK starts 28/10

BOM-PVG-SFO in Feb

8 flights to BRU - additional stations will be MAA. BLR, ATQ, AMD, CCU and HYD

All 10 original 777-300ER's to be delivered by March 2008
All 330-200's to be delivered by October 2008

Three additional 777-300ER to be delivered by mid-2009

Looking at firming up seven additional 777-300ER and 10 additional A330-200's and also exploring conversion of 10 787 options and upgrade to -9 instead of -8

More 737's on the cards and IFE to be installed across domestic 'owned' fleet

Looking at starting services to West Asia - Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain and Kuwait. Excited about starting services to Iran and looking at tie-up with El Al for services to Tel Aviv and beyond. Exploring the possibility of a DEL-MXP-LAX service by end-2008. Also looking at BOM-JNB service next year.

S2 to replace two CRJ-200 with CRJ-900 aircraft soon!

No Pics during approach, but on pushback, prior to departure. The A/C received a water salute by the fire brigade.

5 weekly MAA (Chennai/Madras) to BRU flights are now loaded in Amadeus. Available from Oct 30th. Seem to go on to YYZ as well ... I start to get a bit confused - are these YYZ flights on top of the DEL originating ones? 9W's website isn't particularly helpful here ...

Is it possible they connect Toronto to Chennai, Dehli to New York JFK and Mumbai to Newark? Would be logic.

Cheers,

That's indeed what they will do, at least that's how it is discussed at airliners.net.

The Delhi-JFK flight would be with a B777 and the Chennai-Toronto flight with a A332

So ... the current DEL - YYZ flight will become a MAA - YYZ (A332) flight and DEL will be connected to JFK with a 777 as from Oct 30 ?

Yep, that's how I understood it.

But we have to be patient since it seems that JetAirways can change plans on short notice (which shows they are flexible) ...

The current DEL-BRU-YYZ flight is operated daily or 5 / weekly ?

Jet Airways website and the newspaper "Metreo" says 5 / weekly but Brussels Airport says daily ???

At this moment its 5 days a week. They don't fly on Tuesday and Thursday.

BTW: I read this week in the newspaper that Jet airways is building the most modern lounge in the world on the fourth floor of the B-pier. 500 square meters of wellness, restaurant with 12 employees, business rooms, etc.

If this keeps going it will soon be Jet Airport instead of Brussels Airport!
Anyway... :)

Great view today as 2 9W's (A330 and 777) were standing next to eachother. Just great for Brussels Airport!

I heard some very promising rumours about JA in BRU... Since they are only rumours I didn't post them in this 'latest news' section, but in the civil aviation section.

I hope they are true, except the CO-rumour...

Naresh Goyal was in Brussels today. During a press conference he explained more on Jet Airways plans:

- Besides the already 5 + 5 flights from India - North-America he mentions Hyderabad and Vancouver.
- He wants to promote Belgium for Indian tourists and even will build his own hotel (at least thats the plan).
- It is estimated that Jet Airways could create 1000 direct and 2000 indirect jobs.
