C 130 activity

Post by Moons / A »

Hello,

This weekend we had an unusual high activity of air traffic above my village in the Kempen, Antwerp. I saw some classics flying over at low altitude, making some turns and then proceeding their route. Was there an event nearby?

This brings me to my second remark. Today I sat in the living room when I suddenly heard a very heavy noise coming closer and going away. I already thought about a C130 and it matched. I went back inside and again this noise. For the second time it passed above my garden on low altitude and turned to the right, heading east. I decided to take my binoculars and to wait , expacting him back. And for the 3rd time I got a demonstration while standing in my own garden. :)

But then is disappeared... I know it was a C130 of the Belgian Airforce. But what was it doing above this small village (Vorselaar)? Military exercise? Grobbendonk has a military base just few miles out...

Or someone loves me so much that I got my own air show?

regards

There was a fly-in at EBZR (zoersel/oostmalle), the 'theme' this year was biplanes. So that possibly explains your first question.

No idea about the C130

if a C-130 goes low , it might be an excercise together with land forces.
We did this, euh, 20 years ago.

Thx for the answers. I just talked to someone who is in the army. And she was at Leopoldsburg the last 3 weeks. So it was the exercise.
