Real capuccino on board of SkyEurope
SkyEurope announced this week end that itis the first airline to serve real Italian capuccino and espresso on board of its aircraft. The first East European low cost airline wants to offer its customers a travel experience that exceeds the service of traditional full service airlines.
SkyEurope flies from Brussels to Budapest, Cracow, Prague and Vienna.

If you travel on business and if price is not a major concern, I would recommend you take the airline with the flight schedule which is most convenient to you. All the rest is to a large extent a question of luck.
I travelled once with SkyEurope because they were the only ones at that time to have a direct evening flight between BRU and Krakow (travelling with other carriers would have meant flying through FRA, MUC, VIE or PRG, with double travel time). SkyEurope seemed ok to me as a LCC.
As to "real" capuccino and expresso on SkyEurope, will it really be capuccino and expresso made from an Italian coffee machine ?

Yes i think catering isn't really worth the money we pay for travel nowadays, the best you can get when you are hungry is proably a cup noodle, and apart from juice/softdrinks there is not really a good alternative for non-alcoholic drinks.. Nice to have a proper coffee (not just brown water + sugar + milk).

This is old news - SkyEurope have been offering Illy espresso's and capo's on their flights since the introduction of the new 737-700NG's which have a proper espresso machine fitted in the galley. Coffee is good, but a little steep at €5 a pop! Still, has been worth it on all those 7am Monday morning flights I've taken back here to Brussels from Krakow.
Concerning SkyEurope's service - in general it has been exlempary - smart clean aircraft with reclining leather seats, attentive service by attractive young hostesses and on time departures and arrivals. If the schedule suits you I would opt to fly them rather than b-light on SN's tatty old aircraft... but thats just my two cents

Are you sure there were leather seats in the plane ? I flew SkyEurope onlyonce and they had synthetic/plastic covered seats which, if you don't look carefully, look like leather but aren't. But since I flew them only once, maybe they do have aircraft with leather seats, but seems strange to me on a LCC.

I used Sky already a few times to KRK and was always very happy
with the service, a/c etc.
I also use Wizz from time to time to WAW, also very nice a/c and young
crew.
I use them because of the sched which fits to me better then any other
provider to WAW (Brussels Airlines,LOT)
For KRK I use Sky because there is no other direct connection out of BRU
I highly appreciate the prices for what they offer !!
For me Sky can even open more destinations out of BRU !!

To be honest I'm not sure they're leather either - but that's what SkyEurope claims! Nevertheless, they're comfortable and clean.Air Key West wrote:Are you sure there were leather seats in the plane ? Went to Vienna with Skyeurope in June, and back than I could order a delicious cup of Illy capucinno. The prices are not more expensive than other airlines charge you. I paid 2 € for a can of cola (33cl) and did pay 1 euro for a can of cola (15cl) with Brussels Airlines.
The airline: Skyeurope is a nice, friendly and modern carrier with brandnew aircrafts. All 737-700s are fitted with leather seats, enough space for your legs (in my case at row 7). The crews are friendly, speak fluently English, German and other. Catering is done by Airest (well known Austrian company), and not that overprized compared to other carriers. Welldone Skyeurope, hope they could open more routes out of Brussels.

Could it be that you flew on one of their older 737-300s? I believe at this moment only one is remaining.Air Key West wrote:Are you sure there were leather seats in the plane ?
