Ryanair threatens to pull out of Charleroi

I can't see how the share of FR at CRL could decrease given that two more aircraft will be added for, I assume, the next summer schedule.FLY4HOURS.BE wrote:Yeah but FR has lost anyway because CRL announced they were confident that the 83% FR stake on the traffic at this airport will decrease as other players will find their way to the renewed airport and that this is somehow their goal...
Could you better explain me please?
Again, vicious as you areAirbus330lover wrote:To LCC

Normally I fly to FNI but closed
SN total 99.51EUR
FR total 129.43 EUR excluding handling fees
Before saying ALWAYS cheaper, please be carefull !

And my check was on a 1 week basis (inbound flight 7 days after outbound). I don't have time to check all the possibilities. On CRLVLC and CRLFAO, Ryanair was always the cheapest. You have found 1 cheaper return fare for SN on CRLMRS. Even if it is not the same assumptions that I took, Ok, so 1 SN flight out of 58 is cheaper (58 = the sample of my former studies)...
So, according to our study, in 98% of cases, Ryanair is cheaper than Brussels airlines
Definitely, I hope you won't use anymore sentences such as "SN is often cheaper than Ryanair", unless you consider 2% as often

Ask CRL, they've announced it themselves.I can't see how the share of FR at CRL could decrease given that two more aircraft will be added for, I assume, the next summer schedule.

With the new terminal ready in January, I guess they can welcome other airlines soon... The capacity of the airport will be 4 times bigger than the actual one, they say...
And A330lover is right. For point-to-point travelling, SN is often cheaper if your departure is a Belgian city and you book well in advance. If you travel to FR destinations exclusively, FR will be cheaper.
and here comes the FR announcement:
Positive Meeting with Brussels Charleroi Airport
Ryanair had a positive meeting with Brussels Charleroi this afternoon at which a number of proposals were discussed and agreed which should resolve the outstanding issues.
The airport has agreed to confirm these proposals in writing over the weekend and if this happens then Ryanair expects to have all seats back on sale from next Monday.
Both Ryanair and Charleroi are working together to try to ensure that 22,000 passengers will not be stranded again at Charleroi airport by future strike actions. Once these proposals have been agreed, the issue of compensation will fall away. It is passenger welfare, not compensation which is uppermost in the mind of both Ryanair and BSCA in reaching this resolution.
Some tickets have already put on sale.
