Brussels Airlines-How is it working?
I've been on Brussels Airlines for the first time since it is operating under this name and I would like to express two important remarks:
-I ve been int he Q's for at least 50 minutes at the check-in, I 've booked B'Light. Very impressive, as you can't check-in within 45 minutes from the flight unless you get in the Q's from at least 1hour and a half before the flight. Plus there were only half of the security counters open in terminal A... Result? Our flight was delayed with 40 minutes as we needed wait the last pax's!!
There were as many B'flex counters open as there were in B'light and Q's were beyond the "skyshop". Three Bruair girls helping self-check-in people...
It was perhaps exceptional and linked to the season...
-B'flex was empty on my flight, which is a real pitty seen that the B'light section was full. Is it really that interesting to have a B'Flex for mainly holiday-destinations? I don't know.
The cabin crew as well as the ground crew was quite old but the cabin crew was very professional and nice.
First time I went on one of those Avro's (I ve enjoyed the 330 and the 319 previously) and even if it shows notable marks of aging, I should say this bird is very comfortable, the seats are very good and wide. I enjoyed my trip very much. Too bad for its high fuel-burn.

I flew 3 times to Warsaw this last couple of months and I can assure you that the Qeueing headache seems chronic at Warsaw on peak hours (evening).
I was lucky (and relieved) not to suffer of any major Q-ing at bru -which I find ever so confortable (when not paralysed by wild strikes though)
This queueing is a real pbl because it causes delays and unconfort.
At Warsaw, the first time, I had to short circuit the queue or I would'nt have done it (not pleasant for me and not pleasing to others but the girl at the desk was very understanding)
Then 2nd endless queue for security check (got me crazy).
And when I thought it was (ouf) done, we had to wait 15 additional minutes for the bus to arrive
All in all around 45 min delay because of an ill managed airport.
What costly !

A small month ago I flew to Warsaw and back, and as I was always early in the airport, I had no problems with queues. It was the weekend of July 7th and still it was quite ok. 15 minutes in Brussels only, and 20 for security.
Warsaw can be long on peakhours indeed, but that's because their new departure terminal isn't operational yet for departures. Expect a major improvement when that terminal opens. And it won't be long anymore (if it isn't open already by now)!
In October I go to Gdansk through Warsaw. Basically I have a little more then 1h to change flights (international to domestic and back the same). Should be fine though, since I guess I won't have to check in anymore. And anyway, I'm at Warsaw at noon and late evening.
Greets,
Pieter

problem with flex and light counters
The problem with the counters of Flex and light is a big one but the light pax are handled by Flightcare and the Flex pax are handled by BruAir and that is the real problem. They now put people of BruAir at the Light-counters but then they are paying FC and doing the job theirselves...

I'll be coming back from WAW Sunday night, and I will jump the queue thanks to a cousin of my wife who is working for WAS (Warsaw Airport Services)sn-remember wrote:I flew 3 times to Warsaw this last couple of months and I can assure you that the Qeueing headache seems chronic at Warsaw on peak hours (evening).

It's even better if you know someone very senior in government, then you don't have to check in yourself. It's done for you in "protocol" while they serve you a cup of coffee. And when you return you can wait in the "protocol lounge" until your chauffeur drives the car in front of the exit.sn26567 wrote:At the end of the day, Sunday night was very quiet at WAW. There was no queue and I didn't need anybody to help me through.
