Where to get EU- & TSA-approved plastic bags in Brussels

Dear all,

After hours of cumulated waiting time at baggage carrousels and an impressive number of lost bags (almost exclusively on AZ) in the last months when checking in luggage, and after finding myself with no shaving cream or toothpaste more than once when taking carry-on only, I have finally decided to get my own little plastic bag with 100 ml bottles of toiletries, as approved by both the TSA and EU regulators.

My question therefore is pretty straightforward: Where does one get the thing in Brussels city or at Brussels Airport? Be it the bag itself, or the nice assortments of 100-ml shaving cream, toothpaste, after shave, deodorant and eau de toilette (amongst others).

I just bought a new Samsonite suitcase which got as a free gift a plastic bag with 4 x 90 ml empty plastic bottles.

In Carrefour - Delhaize you might find small bottles of shaving foam as well.

In Di - www.di.be you will also find empty bottles less than 100 ml to squeeze in your shampoo and shower gel

And for the bag: I use a plastic bag that I normally use to put my vegetables and others in the freezer (houd het vers met topits of zoiets!)

Don't the bags have to be approved? Are they selling them/giving them away at Brussels airport at all? I remember they used to hand them out when the new regulations had just entered into force.

I just use re-sealable freezer bags from my local supermarket. They are quite a bit larger than the required 1 litre, but nobody has complained so far (not even German border guards at DTM). The only requirements are that they should be re-sealable and transparent, and not more than 1 litre in capacity, although nobody checks that (they rather check how large the individual containers are, and try to add it all up).

I traveled on TAP from BRU to LIS on 7/25. One guard let me go through with my yogurt. Another guard made me get rid of my yogurt. On the other hand in the US, they are real strict! All you need is a quart sized baggy. They sell these every where in Brussels. You can get travel containers at any drug store in the EU or US with toothpaste, deodorant, shaving cream, mouth wash, etc.

I flew from Dakar to Lisbon on 8/2 and they were relatively lax about this.
