Hello

First of all: The plane has a hell of a big registration. :D

Second:

I don't understand that there could be such a stupid people, they should lock them away for a week or even two. Thinking they can permit theirselves everything and destroying boarding bridges and planes' windows ect... In fact passengers treathening the crew are TERRORISTS...sorry to say, but that's the definition of a terrorist. Secondly...they involve the rest of the pax in grounding the plane...that makes the picture complete to be a terrorist...take them their ticket to fly and lock them away.
Why would the Greek captain then be fired.
What did he wrong?
Or is it that he refuses to fly to Turkey?
I couldn't agree more with the captain + it is indeed a rediculous idea to fly a Greek plane to Turkey. It's not because they are not anymore in war with each other that they suddenly like each other so much. Think about Cyprus. Respect for the captain for the decission he took, and he has my bless. And I hope the other pax will find another flight soon.

Best regards: Yannick ;)

Facts:

Full capacity : 400 seats
Passenger : 404
4 too much accepted by the crew , later refused by the pilots
Aeronotic inspection came and refused the 4 passenger .
Due to the delay and refusal by the pilots they are immediatly resigned by the airline .
By the news of 4 refused passenger the Turkish started to make trouble
This evening will be commin a new crew with olympic airways .
Awaiting the new crew the pax are waiting in the tent near B228.
Also its stupid to use a Greek airplane to transport Turkish .

Strary explained as short as possible

For what touroperator is this airline flying for? I really can't understand they are flying again with such 'rubbish' for the summer season... 21 year old 747s, Lockheed Tristars,... What else are we going to see during this season? 727s again?

Indeed, took some pics on take off roll. Hope they're good, so I can post them tomorrow.

I was in Terminal B at the airport yesterday morning, at around 9:00 a.m., waiting for my flight top MAN. I was surprised to see that 747-200 (they become rare at BRU these days), so I went closer and saw a lot of quiet passengers waiting patiently to board. I did not suspect what would happen.

When I came back at 7:00 pm, I was even more surprised to see that the plane was still there! This thread has told me why. Thanks to all for your contributions.

So was the whole fuss about:
- first a "communication failure" between the tour operator and the airline on the max capacity,
- then the crew strictly follows the regulations ("sorry guys, no seat, no flight"),
- things heat up, the BCAA gets involved (i.e. SAFA check ?),
- the rebels get fired by phone, maybe by the same folks who made the initial mistake (wouldn't it be ironic ?)
- the pax wait even longer to get a new crew
- the plane leave with only 400 pax anyway

Correct ?

Did the police check if all those children where not obliged to be at school for the last week?
The problem with many flights to Turkey is that they leave too soon and return too late. It gives many problems in the schools.
The reason for those parents to use those flights is the lower price.

Calling names....

Piloot ontslagen die weigerde te vertrekken na ruzie passagiers

Grieks vliegtuig vertrekt rond 21 uur

De zoekmachines leveren helaas ook heel wat haat-kommentaren in 'alle' talen betreffende het incident. Maar ja dat is tegenwoordig mode.

Maar waar staat de ware versie van deze geschiedenis?

(declining all and any responsability)

<translate>
Pilot fired after refusing take-off after quarrel with pax
Greek plane departed at +/- 21 hours
Search engines regrettably find plenty of hate-comments in "all" languages about the incident. But then, that is the way things go today.
But where to find the truth about this story?
