GKE 16-06-2007 NATO 25th Anniversary

Post by Robin_Bamps »

Hi all,

I visited the Open House in GKE today together with a Dutch friend. The weather was better than expected and the amount of visiting people was still within the limits.

The parking position of the aircraft varied between very poor (fences directly around the aircraft) and very good (unobstructed view). The big aircraft were the most difficult ones because you had to built in a bigger distance to get it into the frame, and there were always other people between you and the aircraft.

Here are the completely unobstructed ones :

I also visited the cockpit and cargo compartment of 50+89, a Luftwaffe C-160 Transall :

And finally me featuring E-3A :

Goodmorning Robin,
No sign of the special-painted 707's for the jubilee ?

Hey Karl,

Yes, the E-3A in special c/s is also there, but the view is obstructed by fences/people.

Further, the other "B707's" were :

* USAF KC-135R
* US Navy E-6B
* Armée de l'Air E-3F
* Royal Air Force E-3D
* NATO B707TCA
* NATO E-3A (3x)

And the other big ones were :

* USAF B-52
* Canadian Forces CP-140 (P-3C)
* German Navy P-3C
* Italian AF C-27J
* Hellenic AF C-27J
* Hungarian AF AN-26
* Swedish AF Saab 340 (with Radar)
* Flying Bulls DC-6B

Regards, Robin Bamps.

Does anyone know where to find all regs of all exposed planes?

I'm missing some of them...

Maybe a good reason to get connected to the MST forum ;)

Thanks. I'll check it out.
