Wie geen visum heeft, maar wel naar Amerika wil, moet in de toekomst uiterlijk 48 uur voor vertrek hiervan elektronisch aangifte doen. Daarbij moet ook een vragenlijst worden ingevuld.
US-Heimatschutzminister will strengere Einreiseregeln für Europäer
De Amerikaanse minister van Binnenlandse Veiligheid (Homeland Security) is Michael Chertoff, de zoon van een ElAl stewardess en een rabbi: Chertoff was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the son of Rabbi Gershon Baruch Chertoff, the former leader of the B'nai Israel Congregation in Elizabeth, and El Al flight attendant Livia Chertoff (née Eisen). His paternal grandfather, Rabbi Paul Chertoff, emigrated from Russia.
Chertoff was also the one who managed the FEMA response to Hurricane Katrina. Remember, New Orleans remained long in a state of chaos.
Nu zijn de Europeanen potentiele terroristen.
Echte terroristen reizen dus via Canada en Mexico, de VSA binnen....?

I agree it is going a bit too far...
Maybe we should do the same to Americans trying to enter our country, starting with the politicians...?
It's no use doing all this rubbish.
A bit off-topic:
How come there were no interception aircraft available at the moments of the attack on 9/11?
The USA is so proud about their F-16, F/A-18, but if they can't rely on those when they need them, I don't see the use...
In Europe the interception systems seems to work very well! (Remember the Helios crash that was intercepted by Greek F-16's)

There has been a discussion about the idea of getting rid of the US Visa Waiver Program on airliners.net the past week:

How they will cope with all 'western' nations needing visas I don't know - they are already having to temporarily drop the demand for passports from neighbouring countries:

True, but if the US immigration services cannot handle its own citizens, how about the 500 million plus people currently eligible under the VWP...?
Personally I have a UK passport from the British Embassy in Brussels - without a machine readable strip. Was planning to go to Newark & Miami next week for a vacation, but as I am not machine readable I need a full Visa.
So for males between 16 and 45, of which category I fall under, I need to provide details of countries I have visited in the last 10 years. This includes three middle east countries, which I imagine does not count in my favour,
Also I need to list every educational establishment I have attended, any experience with military, explosives etc. This on top of the usual forms - and probably at a cost of >100 Euro.
Well finally I take my vacation in Brussels..

And within a week....
Don't mention you know people that courtesy of the US had extended vacations in either Poland, Romania or Thailand, or maybe a combination of these destinations... full board and free transportation as Dick Marty discovered in their travel brochures.ben222b wrote:Well finally I take my vacation in Brussels..
Mr Marty's report talks about CIA activities challenging the very functioning of the law-based state and its democratic foundation.
And within a week, this reatliation harasment comes....
It's a group punishment it seems.

Ah yes, reality is beyond imagination...SN30952 wrote:...Mr Marty's report....
Read all about it here:
The programme “has given rise to repeated serious breaches of human rights”, the committee declared, including the torture of detainees.
