Turkish Airlines future destinations

Post by xantho »

TK is considering to expand its route network in 2007. In North America TK intends to fly to Toronto and Washington, while Istanbul-Sao Paulo route could be launched in late 2007 nonstop or via Lagos.

I don't think so because TK officials have announced Sao Paulo as a new destination not just a connecting flight.

I haven't heard about that Interesting. That would be wise cause TK is the only airline flying to Pakistan within Star Alliance.

In North America I'm looking forward to see Toronto and Los Angeles routes.

In my opinion this summer TK will add Star Alliance hubs which are not already present in its route network such as; Toronto, Washington, Johannesburg.

The latest:

Lahore, Pakistan will be definetly on this summer according to Turkish and Pakistani Tourism Ministers.

Istanbul to Nevsehir (Cappadocia)

Istanbul to Batumi (Georgia) will be treated like a domestic destination.

Istanbul to Eskisehir. Mainly for the Belgians with Turkish Background flying for their summer holiday. This flight will be connected to THY's Brussels flights.

Bursa Yenisehir to Trabzon.

I think there's a misunderstanding I was talking about TK (Turkish Airlines) not TG (Thai Airways)
Lahore route would be a success for TK because none of the Star Alliance members fly to Pakistan. TK will be the only airlines providing connections for Karachi and Lahore.

As domestic routes 3 new destinations will be served. Nevsehir and Eskisehir from Istanbul. And the 3rd will be Bursa.

I wonder are there any expansion of TK's route network in North America. Will there be a Toronto or Washington route??

Not so: SQ and TG already fly to KHI, and SQ also flies to LHE. But TK would be the first connection from Europe...

Recently,I have read an interview with CEO of THY Mr.Karlitekin where he says that THY intends to fly to those destinations in the near future, but no time frame was given by him.
In the same interview he also indicates that they are very keen to fly to Toronto. I understand there are some negotiations are happening at the moment relating the permits etc.

I am afraid not everybody agrees to calling TK an airline from Europe.
