Haneda would be great!!
I remember being there 4 years ago in the lounge.
Jeez, a 747 taking-off and landing every 45 seconds,... and that for all-domestic routes...(well-almost because there were often China Airlines and Korean airlines crafts)
They have started the construction of a 4th 2500m long runway a few months ago and are gaining space on the Tokyo bay. It is told that it would be ready by 2010!!
Haneda sure has the great capacity potential for a BRU-route: Tokyo city has nearly twice as many inhabitants as all Belgium, without talking about its great agglomerations...

They are still "flying". I saw yesterday a new promotion for the flights to LOS.Skystef wrote:Siverfleet last flight took place end of April, after 8 cancellations in a row nothing is expected next couple of weeks, silent death?spotter1102 wrote: Waouw the third cargo airline that will start cargo operations in BRU in 2007 !!! After Silverfleet and Cargo B Airlines, Royal Jordanian Cargo !
But what about the JFK flights, absolutely no info. Low traffic for them??
Brussels loaded for online booking on Jet Airways website
At last, we can check prices starting from Brussels :
Newark is bookable for 407 euro (taxes included) :kvole:
Mumbai bookable for 577 euro ( taxed included)
Now let's hope that they adjust the prices for some connecting destinations :
Singapore : economy 5.800 euro !!!!!!!!
Bangkok via Delhi : "special" economy ~1.800 euro :frown:

do you see any reason for this ?
maybe they'll use pax flight to carry their cargo ?
otherwise i dont see any good reason...
Re: There might be more ANA news later this year
I think Snowflake is right ! Moreover don't forget that SN's TYO-route has been systematically undermined by and the high yields diverted to the Swiss ! :teach:Vinnie-Winnie wrote:As experienced by Sabena.... U got to be joking right?snowflake wrote:ANA will open Haneda as from 2009 for international flights. This combined with the arrival of the new 787's and the capacity problems on EUR and the interest for BE market (high yields, low competition, BRU as EU capital) might change the opinions of the JP management within the upcoming months...

According to different sites its because RJC joined One World Alliance.Acid-drop wrote:Established02 wrote:Royal Jordanian Cargo is another new cargo client for Brussels Airport. According to Luchtvaartnieuws.nl, Saudi Arabian Airlines Cargo will increase the number of flights from 18 to 20 as from June 20.

How to understand the connection between joining oneworld and moving their hub to BRU?Atlantis wrote:According to different sites its because RJC joined One World Alliance.

How much of a oneworld place is BRU actually?
AA BA CX AY IB MA ...... LA QF JL ...... RJ
(... and the remote possibility of SN joining oneworld one day)
AA RJ is flying to JFK themselves
BA RJ is flying to LHR themselves
IB RJ is flying to MAD and BCN themselves
CX Would RJ send some of their cargo westbound to BRU to have it then shipped eastbound again by CX?
AY
MA
No connections with LA, JL and QF at BRU.
A few years ago RJ stopped flying pax to BRU.

Today's flight was Amman-Algiers-Brussels-Amman.Atlantis wrote:On the same time they let know to fly in the near future also via Istanbul or Caïro.

I'm not questioning that this has been communicated as such.
It's just that I still don't see how BRU would be somewhat more of oneworld airport than various other major airports in the region. For example, FRA is being generously served by all of the oneworld carriers, without exception.
