I think so as these restaurants and shops are in the "international zone". The passengers should pass border controll when they want to go shopping. The problem arises indeed when a flight gets cancelled or a connection is missed and they have to spend the night in Belgium. Maybe they should build a hotel in the international zone. If I remember well, this exists at Schiphol.

Take it easy spotter 1102, let them first start with the first routes with the first aircraft's.
It all depends when they receive the new aircraft's.

@WisoBe

Many thanks for the very nice report you write here. It was a good impression how it was.

Ok

I am sure that Brussels Airport will do his best to promote all the announced routes so maybe other routes could be added to the 9W network via BRU.

Could a BOM-BRU-JNB route be possible ?

Yes indeed Wisobe!!

The main raison why i not really like SN is because they are just flying Europe and Africa.

As some people may now,Brussels Is one of the busiest airports when It comes to flights from US (Delta,American,United,Northwest,...).
And what does BA  Flying to Africa  jeeeuj.

I hope there will come more airlines like 9W. Why do you think NWA will come to EBBR? With all respect but Brussels needs Airlines to Asia and America..

greets

The JNB flight will be a direct flight out of Mumbai. That's what I have read this week.

Any idea how the transit and transfer passenger will be handled ?
Well, since there are apparently plans (according to Verhofstadt in his speech) to offer tours of Brussels for the transit passengers, I take it transit visa will indeed be issued, or are at least seriously being considered.

Ok thanks for info.

Thus its the job for Brussels Airlines to launch the BRU-JNB route.

This route is already available in the Amadeus booking system, those who are interested should maybe contact their travel agent.

Actually a lot of pictures. You will have to skip some I think. Sorry for the reflexion sometimes. I guess I can use photoshop to take the reflexion away.

Have fun ... and tell me what you think about it.

I don't think that Brussels Airlines is going to fly this route. With the fourth A330 they will fly to, rumoured Montreal, and some extra flights to existing destinations or new destinations in Africa.

In the past Sobelair was flying to JNB but it wasn't profitable although the flights were full.

Brussels Airport was in talk with airliners for a direct link to JNB, but I have no clue what the status is at this moment. Remember the speech months ago of Wilfried Van Assche about the 30 most popular destinations. Well JNB, according to Brussels Airport, is one of them that has to be reached out of BRU.

Thanks for the info bud. 9W hasn't updated their online booking for these routes...or am I wrong.

It's also not updated on the Brussels Airport website. They mention the launch of the route on 15 August instead of 5 August. They should correct it quickly.

Transit pax are always fun ... especially when you have to go looking for them in the tax free shops at departure time :-)
Nothing has been signed yet !!!! Please do not insinuate aviapartner or flightcare before the signature ! Everything can change. :) :) :)
