Hi,

Does somebody has an idea of when the planes will land? Will it be in the morning or afternoon? Any known hour?

Thanks.

JOVAN, as I said before, it is your absolute right not to like certain things, and to say so. The only thing I, and with me it seems several others, have a problem with is that this complaining is the only thing you do. It gives the impression that you're a frustrated and bitter old nag.

Back on topic: try to see things in their context. Yes, I agree SN seems to lack ambition and seems overly careful. But I see this mainly as a counterreaction to what happened to Sabena in the second half of the 90s: unrealistic ambitions, ridiculous growth (the 'buy planes now, worry about filling them later' approach), and spending that went through the roof. An approach that caused the airline's demise. While going for the exact opposite approach we see at SN today is probably not the answer, it is understandable. And immediately extrapolating this to pretty much everything and everyone in Belgium, and thus dragging in completely unrelated things is, in my opinion, simply ridiculous and over the top in a very drama queen-ish way.

That's not the main thing I get from that article. It seems the plans 9W has for BRU might actually be a lot bigger than we thought, and the Belgian government seems to have quite an involvement. From the article:
The Belgian government, it seems, was delighted at the prospect of an airline setting up its operational base in the city and agreed to form a new entity, in association with Jet Air.
New entity? Belgian subsidiary perhaps?
The funds that will be needed for this upgrade will come from the Belgian government. Goyal declined to talk on the details of the investments and what kind of upgrades will be made at the airport. "That is for the Belgian Prime Minister to talk about," he said. "And he will in a few days."
For what has been announced by 9W so far, no upgrades at the airport are needed that I know of. So this again seems to hint at a much bigger 9W operation than what we know so far...

Little over a week to go before we know...

Hey,

As a matter of fact I have some fresh information about this.

The A330 should arrive on 28 April at 12h45.
The B777 should arrive on 1 May at 11h00.

Now, these are only rumors I've heard, so it is possible I'm wrong. One thing I know for sure ... I will be there ! :P :P :P

Thank you

Jet Airways question

Post by triple7 »

Some sources say that Jet Airways will have cheap fares on the BRU - EWR/YYZ flights, but I thought only European and American carriers had traffic rights between BRU and the US/Canada? n(for example Ethihad cannot sell tickets pn the BRU-YYZ stretch... How come Jet Airways can??

Interested in any reply :-)

The 330 landed little before 13h00. Nice shiny colors, but I was too busy with my flight to take a photo :(

Hey all,

To be more precise, the first Jet Airways flight landed at 12.30 in Brussels, so 15 minutes earlier than what I said. For those who missed it, just take a look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRtK35OKwSA

I will try to make another video of the 777 Tuesday.

In fact, it was the second Jet Airways flight into BRU.

The first one was back in December (2006), when an A343 diverted from LHR.

Regards, Robin Bamps.

Hello

I hope the plane will be on time tomorrow, can't stay long tough tomorrow. :(

If someone knows the flightstatus later on the evening, could someone post it please? Thanks very much ;)
