diversion

Post by suppie »

Sound realy odd to me to divert al the way to BRU when U just passed DUB with a passenger with a heart attack...If its a real medical emergency U put that plane down at the first available airport and there r many airports in the UK

You can't just put such an airplane down whenever you feel like it. The plane was too heavy for an immediate landing and had to dump fuel over the Northsea for about 25 minutes. Other things to consider are airport fire fighting capabilities and handling equippement and in case of an A340-600: airport lay-out. Low traffic at Brussels also means you can depart again whenever you are ready...
