Ryanair found a new way to make money and sell dreams.
How many young boy's and girls dream of becoming a FA ?a lot.
We also know that only a few will be selected because they have the right qualifications.
But Ryanair is a airline that grows at the speed of Superman, they need you !
There not so picky, so your chance to make it is there.
You only have to speak English, a second language is a plus, but not a must.
You have to pass the training course, at CAE Amsterdam.
And after 5 weeks your up in the air, you made it..... your a FA.
Anyway, after the blah blah this is how it works.
You pay CAE 2.500 Euro for the course, they pay Ryanair 1.000 Euro, that is Ryanair's commision.
Ryanair sell's you your uniform, you have to pay it yourself but for a low fair airline the price isn't low........
Profit 800 euro for Ryanair.
You also pay for your airport securitycard's.
They ask you where you like to be based, but your choice doesnt matter. During the first week of training they tell you your base is going to be London Stansted, that's the place where they need people, like they couldnt tell you that before you desided to follow there training course ?.
But so far so good, you are a FA ! and Ryanair is payes you 1.500 a month. thats nice, but dont forget you have long days working for them (5 days on and 3 days off).
You find out that 1.500 pays your rent and your living in Chaleroi and Frankfurt (Hahn) but what is 1.500 in London !!!!! right, nothing.
But it only can get better, after one year you have the chance to become first FA and make much more money.
Oeps, new problem you only have a one year contract. And new FA's are waiting........
So if you are lucky you get a contract after that year, if they find a lot of people to join the course ??...... To bad so sad, but Ryanair promised you a job for a year and they didnt lie.
If your based in the UK your lucky, you have a UK contract. Based in Europe, Irisch contract and medical !.......
After a year you basicly made nothing, and lost your job.
And Ryaniar knows this is a moneymaker, after a school in the UK, there is CAE Amsterdam and also the European flightschool in Milaan.
There is a case in Belgian court, 3 FA's and there union's going after Ryanair because they lost there job after one year, so........?
And now the Nowegian trade unions are asking there members to boycot Ryaniar because there concept is based on exploiting people.......?
Good luck and have a good flight.

So anyway, how much does a FA cost Ryanair ?
Training 0 euro, they make money (1.800 euro).
FA sells drinks, 2.50 per drink, 45 pax per flight = 112.5 euro
-10 % com = 101 euro
And dont forget tax free shopping !
FA is payed per flight, only a bonus for flights longer than 1 hour 50 min.
Depending on there base they make around 25 euro per flight.
For a Boeing 737/800, 4 FA's x 25 euro = a 100 !!!!!!
So include tax free shopping and beside the cost of the drinks, these people cost Ryanair almost nothing.

Do you think I have to worry when i check in
Anyway, I have nothing against a low cost airline, I wish Virgin was more creative like Ryanair is.
There are many good things Virgin can copy from Ryanair, but your people are the force and face of the company, please dont (ab)using them.

Does this refers to Ryanair's or Virgin's employees!!!!!
I heard from my friends that this is so true for the lather ones (virgin staff) who get exploited by their employer more and more.
