They have send a communiqué about what happens the last couple of days.

They stopped with this operation due to overcapacity of available seats to Quebec and the very low prices. One of the strong competitors is Montreal.

The travel site is no longer available.

Yah, that was short-lived. 15months
The real reason seems to be:
Une guerre de prix a raison du voyagiste Vacances Maestro, de Québec, qui a cessé ses opérations mercredi matin.

Only 1645 clients have to be repatriated. 1645 clients for 2B757's...
The load factor must have been very low. (120pax per aircraft max, in the last 7days, I calculated, but probably closer to 65)

The strange thing is that VM create the overcapacity themself, by duplicating the flights on existing destinations...
imho, they did not (yet)have time to create new offer -new destinations-, but they tried to pick in passengers of existing operators, with a price battle, which they lost.

Low load factor + low fares = a predictable exit.

Skyservice Airlines was operating all Maestro flights using 2 B757-200ER.
Skyservice flies
4 Boeing 757-200
2 Airbus A319-100
7 Airbus A320-200

actually, the press release said "due to a fierce war from THE COMPETITOR from Montreal" = Transat Group if you can read between the lines.

Why cut the route ?
With a pax load of 65-120 they could consider operating the route with the A319 no ?
Still better suited would be the A318 but I am not sure this one is certified for EROPS operation.

Air Maestro closed all routes ans suspended operations.

Bankrupt of the company is possible in a close future.
