True or not ? Virgin Express (VEX) grounds 3 Boeing 737
Hi all,
apparently Virgin Express (VEX) actually grounds 3 Boeing 737 because passenger-figures dropped heavily. And because of the grounding they will not extend some pilot-contracts which finish in December.
True or not ? Confirmation please ...

The difference in their fares with SN is really small. Add to this the catering (if you buy anything) and the price of a more comfortable seat and it is even more expensive than SN.
I would like to know the yield of VEX and the yield of SN on the routes they serve together (MAD/FCO/BCN/...)
Regards
Frederic

The wintertimetable '03/'04 shows less frequencies on certain destinations (MAD/BCN/NCE/AGP/PMI/FAO/CPH....)than the summertimetable '03 --> rest of 3 B737 of which the leasing contract is ending now and which will be returned to their lessors soon. Will they be replaced for next summerschedule ??? Nobody knows so far.

PS. by the way the pax load figures have not dropped at all.

Just a question, both companies having the same number of pax (more or less) and the same ticket prices (read post above), how could the yield of VEX be worst than the one of SNBA knowing that VEX has two times less employees and two times less aircraft???
The real question is how is SNBA doing this?

Hmm, i wouldn't go stating immediately that VEX has the same fares as SNBA. I think that VEX still has significant lower fares then SNBA for most routes. Although i can be wrong, it's not something that i check so often, but last time i saw some prices, i would say that there is a significant difference.

I think the fleet downsizing is logical as VEX serves many holiday destinations. And with their low prices they attract many tourists in the summer.

They have way less buisness traffic. And in the winter there's less traffic to those airports, so that's logical
