Virgin Express keeps on fighting...

Post by NicoD »

Hi all,

Maybe this is something interesting, I've just heard it myself: Virgin Express will decorate some of its aircrafts with a sticker saying: "Stop Subsidies"... I'm under the impression there is a battle to begin, no?

kind regards

I'm also impressed by that 8O If this story is tru I'm pretty sure that Ryanair will paint another slogan on one if its own planes.

as the people say " de één zijn dood is de ander zen brood"
hopefully ryanair is going down so virgin express can take over the flights so the flights will be operated by a belgian airline
i sure hope ryanair will be gone soon

Grtz,

Nico

Nico,

You live in Ostend. If Ryanair goes, EBOS will loose its only scheduled flights!

I agree with Nico. Rather Virgin Express than Ryanair. And wasn't Ostend a cargo airport (mainly) before the days of Ryanair getting its claws into the place???

And not to mention there so called 'commercial policy' to change airport names... They really do what they want those Ryanair guys AND not even Belgian! So, Stop Subsidies', I don't think it's a bad thing to battle for!

Off course, this is only my opnion!

Ostend has always been a Cargo Airport and in my eyes it still is so
look at the TT of today we can live on cargo only
ryanair can stay butt no illegal subsides its just wrong to the other airlines :!:

Nico

I agree with you BlackEyedB747. EBOS is and will remain a cargo airport. It's not because of the 2 daily flights (I think  ) That this airport will change.

Everybody is talking about Ryanair.... but what about SNBA? They receive more subsidies than whatever airline. Everybody keeps his mouth shut: governement, press, etc... Doesn't anybody dare talking about it?

Dustbiter,

Can you tell more about it, what kind of subsidies? The 5 billion BEF is a risk loan of the government and need to be paid back. What did SNBA receive more than VEX?

[The 5 billion BEF is a risk loan of the government ]

1) VEX never received 5 billion BEF from whatever governement.
2) When has this lone need to be paid back by SNBA?
3) Rumors go round about bookings for a 80% load, finaly only 35% show up... Quite a lot noshows! Quenstion: Who has the money to be able to affort to be noshow in these hard times? Weird, strange, interesting !!! If the rumor is correct, who's buying the tickets?????

1) The 5 billion was initially for Sabena but went to SNBA as start money.
2)They SN Air Holding need to pay it back in 5 years if I am correct.
3)I do not understand you question.

I don't think thiss is right at all :!: Just look at the loadfactors that are every month published by the AEA association (http://www.aea.be).

The loadfactors of SNBA are good and definately much higher than 35 %.

Shure the loads are higher, I wrote it only by example...
The question is still, how come there are so many noshow (short and longhaul) and who can affort ???? Or are these some kind of hidden subsidies, knowing that gorvernemental susidies are forbidden by EU?

I don't think that those are subsidies at all. Are you sure that there are many so many noshows.

Since SNBA is trying to target the business man this could be quite logical that there are more noshows than on leisure airlines or low cost ones, but I doubt that those are more than on any other airline transporting many business pax.

Well, I hope to get some confirmation posted here, but to my oppinion nobody will have the guts to do so. This is a very sensitive toppic. Nevertheless, I hope we''ll find out the truth soon.
