Istanbul SAW passenger traffic increasing rapidly

Post by hakan »

The passenger traffic in İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (2. international airport in İstanbul) is maintaining its fast growth rate since 2003.The total number of domestic and international passengers in 2003 was 157,172 which grew to 245,601 in 2004, then to 1,019,746 in 2005.

From 2005 to 2006, the traffic kepts speedy growth and was almost tripled reaching a total of 2,916,454 proving Sabiha Gökçen a shining star in the area with new airlines starting flights into more frequently every month and with one of the biggest Turkish civil aviation projects, My Technic; a 45 million USD project which broke ground last month.

It is understood that currently there are 3 European and a Gulf region LCC are seeking permission from Turkish Civil Aviation Authority :D to start flights to Istanbul SAW shortly. :D
