MP 951 long delay - OO-TUC no longer alone
Martinair MP 951 due to leave Sunday 11/02 at 18:25 to Colombo and Phuket has not yet departed. It is niow scheduled for Monday 12/02 at 11:40.
Anyone knows the reason for such a long delay?
About OO-TUC, no problem. It left this morning to Puerto Plata and Punta Cana with less than one hour delay.

Aircraft is still in the hangar with the strut problem, Martinair had send another one from AMS that left today...sn26567 wrote:Plane departed 13:30.
Only 19 hours late.
Some passengers will remember their vacation. I hope they were treated well. A night at the Sheraton? I was there yesterday and did not see them...

A strut is part of the landing gear.
It acts as a shock absorber in your car.
It is usually filled with hydraulic fluid under pressure, and sealed of with a seal. probably that's were the leak is.
To BRANCOCALIENTE: yes, it is an important part of the A/C. You could seriously damage the landing gear and the structure of the aircraft if you loose all hydraulic fluid.

thanks for the explanation!
I think we've seen this problem already in "Luchthaven, HLZHI": wasnt the legendary "Biman pilot: only a leak?" about the same problem?
