Visit Malaysia Year 2007, your destination or diversion?

Post by SN30952 »

Visit Malaysia Year 2007 Campaign held in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of Malaysia’s independence from Britain.
Tiger Airways and Bangkok Airways may be allowed to fly into the country.
60% of all Malaysia’s tourists come from Singapore, that's why Tiger Airways is interested in flying from SIN to tourist destinations on the east coast of Malaysia and also to the states of Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo.
Tiger Airways does expect to be permitted to fly to KUL, that is reserved for the national carriers: Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines.
Thai Air Asia soon will fly from Bangkok to Langkawi.
And then there is AirAsia X, due to start flying to China and England in July 2007.
Online ticket sales starts next month.

Btw, KUL will be a successful diversion airport for passengers wanting to avoid Suvanabum.

Add the fact the Malaysia is one of the best countries I have ever visited for business and tourism and its all looking quite rosy!

I wish them all well as it is a great country with seriously nice people. Hope it doesn't drive costs up too high though.....
