Hello,
Can somebody explain why a flight (with the OO-TUC) to Punta Cana going via Varadero is taking over 14 hours ?
I just booked a holiday. You'll find the time-shedule hereunder :
BRU - PUNTA CANA via VARADERO : 06:00 - 14:15
PUNTA CANA - BRU : 15:45 - 06:50
Like you can see the flight back is a flight with "normal" 9 hours flight.
Last year we went to Puerta Plata (via Punta Cana) and we had 2 flight of +/- 10 hours.
Could someone tell me why a trip from BRU to Varadero takes 5 hours more than a trip from BRU to Punta Cana ? (I don't think Cuba is 5 hours away from the Domenican Republic)

Hmm, I could think of several reasons...
BRU-VAR-PUJ is a triangular flight;
1. So you have to take into account the VAR-PUJ flight of +/- 1 hour (or more?)
2. You stay at least 1 hour on the ground in VAR for catering, refuelling, cleaning, checks, extra passengers, procedures etc... probably
3. Jet Stream + rotation of the Earth could easily ad 1 to 2 hours if you’re flying west.
See: http://curious.astro.cornell.edu/questi ... number=607
So that would already be a total of 4 hours more.
I don't know if these are the actual reasons, but probably they are
Anyway have a nice trip
