Impressive....

You can't expect them to take 10 A330's on leasings as the plane is very rare.

Dear all,
I posted this subject on the 28th of december. I am not a spotter, not an employee of a carrier and not even an enthousiast. The only thing I do is travel by plane and try to choose BA as first choise carrier. This made me interested in what they do and what the future evol:utions could be. Luchtzak.be proved to be the best info channel for that.
TWO days before my posting I overheard three phonecalls made by a french? citizen in the business class lounge in terminal B. He clearly underlined(an felt very happy) that the deal was made and was pending on court decision in Spain(air madrid??). He mentioned an alternative being 767. On top of that he underlined that 2 planes were in the pipeline. The oldest trick in the book to get info :slaver:
What I then read as replies was rather strange. At first people were optimistic but then accusations of rumors and so on came. I hope that people who post X posts a week apparently only survive by attacking our last bit of airline pride. :pang: Sad. Note that people 'who don't have a clue' of the airline industry reached the best successes(Virgin, Easyjet, Ryanair, the new swiss board, BMI, Air Berlin, Etihad,...............
Get positive and you'll see, the second plane will arrive sooner then you think.
Long live Brussels Airlines
Kind Regards
P.S. Negativism spreads like a disease. Also press and shareholders, customers(like me) read the forum. Being positive makes a difference!!!!!

Now by 2010, the global air traffic volume might double ! (Heard this on the news)
as it did already considerably increase since 2001 !
If snba wants at long last to wake up and follow the trend, the least I can say is that it is never too late to hope!
But knowing the inertia there, I will believe it when I see things really starting to move !
So increasing the l/h fleet from 3 to 6 A330s by 2010 -although a positive move- is by no means a huge achievement (imho) and certainly not enough to create the market perennity they need.
Would anyone know why they are'nt interested in acquiring some A310 type as well (certainly much cheaper) ? Air Madrid was having some (previously flown by LH I believe).
Cheers ... (and yes I cross my fingers!)

Dear Jazzy,
You're absolutely right - there's a tremendous amount of negativism in this BA long haul forum. Some, like "Sn-remember" seem to know how to run an airline. Well, Sn-remember, why don't you tell the BA-management what to do? Or, start an airline yourself. And, show all of us how it should be done.
Spreading garbage around is so easy...
As aviation enthousiastic, I really hope BA makes it.
Thks

Everybody is free to express his opinion as I do and as you do.
And as long as insults and nonsense are banned of course!
Although we are not Michael O'Leary or Sir Richard neither of us

We might be wrong -or right (who knows?)- that's why we are exchanging our different points of view in all humility.
You know you can't muzzle critics, especially if they are (some of them?) generally recognised.
I feel that you confuse expressing critics with being negative.
Actually it is mainly the immobilism and lack of ambition that makes me react!
Immobilism because snba's business has not expanded since day 1 and they seem to enjoy their present lot so fragile and unchanged since day 1!
And what is more negative and antagonist to the business culture than immobilism in vulnerability?
Lack of ambition because I feel their wings were cut off from the start and that had to be progressively restored if possible (see Swiss and others)
So who is being negative?
However if they decided to develop their activities at last, show more boldness and opt for change and movement in a ever changing and moving environment, then you may be sure I will be the first to praise them !
Cheers ! ...and being an optimistic I cross my fingers
