Ryanair is starting to serve US locations

Post by misterno1 »

I saw this website www.vivaaerobus.com which is a mexican airline partially owned by the notorius ryanair from Ireland. I googled and found that they are planning to fly from Mexico to several US locations.

Now you might say "so what? there are some mexican based airlines already serving between 2 countries already"

Well ryanair is famous in Europe for their extremely cheap pricing, if you go to www.ryanair.com you will see what I mean. You will see ads like 2-3 euros from london to paris or something like that and yet they are most profitable airline in Europe. Go figure :)

I hope ryanir starts their pricing scheme between mexico and Houston. If you check their website, you will see that they are flying from monterey to several locations for less than 100 bucks roundtrip.

We are waiting for you ryanair... Right here in Houston

GO GO GO GO RYANAIR

*Irony on*

Waaaaaw, we didn't know Ryanair yet, that's some shocking news for all of us.

*Irony off*

Fly it once, and you'll see where the cheap fares come from...

Everybody knows Ryanair in Europe.
Some love them, some hate them.
I like them but it is low cost.
Don't think Ryanair is going to stick it's nose in low cost transatlantic flights.

1. Ryanair and VivaAeroBus have absolutely no connection. A previous investor in Ryanair is a current investor in VivaAeroBus, the connection ends there.
2. Jet Blue fly to Houston and Mexico, maybe it's someone like JetBlue who will enter the Houston - Mexico market.
3. Ryanair trying to buy Aer Lingus shows that Ryanair are interested in transatlantic

I think it has more to do with losing a competitor and doing something with the pile of cash they are sitting on, rather than being interested in transatlantic.
However, if the wouldn't want it at all, they would try to take over AerLingus, so you have a point there.

Don't believe you can have a Ryanair flight for 2 euros : you have to add the taxes, charges and fees, and perhaps a hold luggage (supplement) which bring the price to some 15 or 20 euros, at the very least.
And you won't find 2 euros flights anytime to anywhere.
Ryanair tickets are still cheap at the price, and I am a great fan of them, but let's be realistic !

Jetblue does not fly from Houston to Mexico

Only fromn NY to Mexico so no help there

Also, information about Ryanair founder is vivaaerobus's website, it is not my imagination

And also, if they fly from Houston to Mexico for cheap, I will be willing to go on foot, as long as it is less than 400 bucks like Continental. God, I hate Continental airlines. The most expensive ride on earth.
