Based in Antwerp/How busy?

Post by TallDutch »

Hello,

Attached plane is partially based in Antwerp and Rotterdam.
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=526321

Can anyone tell me more about the other planes of this company?

And in general, how busy is Antwerp? Is it worth to come from Amsterdam to Antwerp?

Thanks in advance!

Check out the website of the company: http://www.flyinggroup.eu/

Antwerp is just a small airport so there are not so many movements. More info: http://www.antwerpairport.be/

I wouldn't say "just a small airport" like Strumpf ...

If you want to photograph FYG planes the best airport for it is Antwerp !!!

2 ac are based in the Netherlands:

OO-KRC
N666MX

as far as I know the rest is based in Antwerp !!!
aswell as this beauty !!! --> http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1110419/L

And besides FYG we also have: VLM and ASL

Hello

Indeed I couldn't agree better with Burner_737.

Flying Group has indeed some very nice planes and it's still in full expansion
, they are about to buy some new Cessna Jets. I would say , let them come up. :D

If you visit EBAW just once or couple of times you might find it quite boring but if you become a frequent visitor , you discover EBAW is always ready to
give you a surprise. Being well-informed is although a gigantic pluspoint , you
don't want to wait a whole day at the runway in the hope there is going to come something specials :D so. But if you're lucky you can spot a Gulfstream , Canadair Challenger , Bombardier Global Express, VERY occasionally a diverted plane (Saab 2000 , Avro RJ , etc...). And you USED to see the BAe 146-300 from Discovery airlines. Also if you're VERY lucky you get the opportunity to see a B737 , but the chances on that one are decreasing since they're stepping of from that idea. It's not really so safe anymore to welcome a 737 (even empty). But on a average weekday you'll see several VLM Airlines Fokker 50's and some nice business traffic
from all kind of private airliners.

So give it a try (but I wouldn't go on a weekend afternoon , it's kind of boring then.) Weekdays in the morning or evening are although a good chance on some more traffic.

Best regards and succes! Yannick ;)

There is more chance to see business traffic at Brussels Airport, certainly with the EU and NATO offices nearby...

Thanks all for your feedback.

Overall I believe it's quit worth to come over for a day and just see what it brings..

Are there coming these kind of 'bizzers' as well? http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5739209

Very exceptionally, perhaps.
The runway really isn't long enough for that kind of bird.

Hello

Indeed BBJ's have already visited EBAW.

And I'm 100% sure , the BBJ-800 N737W has already visited EBAW last year.
I could have killed myself for not knowing it and so not having been able
to go and spot it. It IS very exceptionally to see a B737-800 at EBAW.

Am still waiting on the VEX 737 that WAS a yearly visitor , but I guess this year will be different. :(

Best regards: Yannick ;)

That's why Antwerp has its harbour and the diamond-business!!
Certainly more business aviation overhere than at BRU.

And indead Bruspotter you were right :

http://www.planepictures.net/netshow.php?id=570486
One of my pictures of N737M at Antwerp airport.

And Strumpf can still complain about the fact that it isn't a 757. But we already had those too. 8)

So I definitely prefer Antwerp airport :!:

Indeed Guys,

Antwerp is the place to see a variety of different (business) aircraft.

Our C560XL, N666MX will visit Antwerp tomorrow 28/12
ETA 17.05 LT coming from Tenerife

So the chance to see it again in Antwerp.

Next year we will get also a Falcon 2000 EX EASy and some CJ3's
In 2008, 3 Citation Mustangs and 2 Falcon 7x will join the fleet!

Best regards from Antwerp
and to all of you a HAPPY 2007 !!!

Hi,

visited Antwerp 15/12/06 (to drive further to BRU for the EU-TOP), and we kindly asked the people inside if it was possible to take a look inside the Hangars. It was no problem.

Within 5 minutes we saw the following:
N750NS Ce750
OO-ACT Fa900
N560PL Ce560XL
OO-FLN Ce525A
OO-PHI Ce525
OO-VMI Fa900DX
VP-CFZ Ce750
N560DE Ce560XL
OO-FYG Ce550
HB-IUW Fa900
F-GPAC Be200

Hopefully it gives you an idea what you can expect and see here.

Regards, Jeroen

They're all based at Antwerp Airport (expect for F-GPAC)

That's indead the amount of present bussines aircraft you can expect at Antwerp.
They won't be there all the time, but there are some more who aren't on the list. (Falcon 900EX OO-FOI, CJ2 OO-CIV, CJ1 OO-CEJ, ...).
So it's well worth the visit.

This seems to indicate you only visited the hangar of "The Flying Group". Nice of course, but there's lots & lots more to see at EBAW!

Hello

It certainly will. Flying group is expanding continuously and VLM just bought a new aircraft and another is following , besides VLM Airlines flies back on Manchester since shortly (about two months ago) and if the ANR-LCY-ANR routes do better they might fly more frequently.

I think now it's important to attract NEW airlines , maybe airlines like Lufthansa they could come with the ATR 42 /Dash 8 , CRJ100/200 or even Avro RJ85 , or maybe Swiss airlines with the Saab 2000 or Avro RJ100 , EVEN British Airways could visit ANR with the Dash 8 / Avro RJ100 and so many more , ANR can HANDLE all of these planes , it's juts a mather of doing this.

Best regards: Yannick ;)
