AirBaltic to fly Vilnius - Brussels from spring

Post by loginas »

Will fly from start of summer shedulle.
6 times per week, all days except saturday.

Also Vilnius - Milan 4x weekly, Vilnius - Rome 3x weekly, Zuerich 3x weekly.

I wonder will they codeshare this route with Ba (after starting codeshare Riga route recently). There is already a codeshare with flyLAL on the same route.

Good some competition for Lithuanian airlines (flyLAL) as there ticket fare's are quite high on the BRU-VNO route.

I don't always understand air baltic though... I had to pay once for a drink on RIX-BRU... but got it free on VNO-RIX .. hmmm

You will have a chance to see this B733 also (to be delivered soon, ex-SkyEurope HA-LKS, still with hungarian reg.) :

Is this flight actually going to be a stop on their Tallin-Brussels flight?

I wonder how the loadfactor on this route will evolve, because LAL regularly comes to BRU with S2000 (not proof of very high pax numbers) and the days they do come with 737, I haven't seen more than 40 to 50 pax disembark... if they now have to split this between 2 companies, we'll have an awful lot of overcapacity on this route!

Fly(as in small nasty shit loving flying insect)LAL has quite ridiculous pricing on this route. And I think they use 737 only for operational reasons, not capacity. I am certain passenger numbers will increase when prices come down.

loginas: glad you agree about pricing

When I flew the route back in 2005 (two times BRU-VNO ones VNO-BRU) it was always 737-500 ... and loads didn't seem bad... Most ppl looked lithuanian-ethnic russian to me... however looks can deceive (EU staff?).
