I don't like the site for two reasons: selling publicity and banners seems to be the main reason for the change. And poor actual flight information indeed.

Compare it to Zürich Airport: at 21h03 tonight, LX789 BRU-ZRH has landed there. Type of aircraft: A319. Reg.: HB-IPS. Information you get by just one mouse click.

What's positive is the small logo they put next to the flight info. Negative is, as mentionned, the info of the airplane itself...

Anyway, it's a nice site imo. Nice to see they don't forget the spotters :D

Very, very diisapointed.
The main page shows an ETIHAD 330 landing. Why not a picture of the home carrier ?
Furthermore, the anguish for every spotter : no A/C types anymore displayed.
Greetz, Karl
The home page shows a plane at the A-pier. Only spotters and aviation fans would identify it as a Lufthansa one. The Etihad picture you are referring to is on the arrivals page

There are quite some pictures of SN planes on the site, but you have to remember that this is the site of the airport, and that they have to keep everybody happy. Besides, which one is the home carrier? Not only SN, but also VEX and even JAF and TCB call BRU their home.

As to the a/c types, it is sad indeed, but this is not a spotters website. But who knows, if enough people write in, not to complain but with positive criticism, BAC might consider changing it?

And they don't updated the cargo timetable. ET cargo schedule is still not visible.

Second: its bad that they don't mention anymore the charter destinations.
But now they mention destinations you can't reach direct from Brussels f.e. Aalborg, Amman, etc, etc. That's irrelevant info and gives a wrong interpretation.

So, I stay with my first post: very nice and prefessional but there are things who can be better.

The banners are also used to promote new destinations like Beijing and Detroit. Even the old website had those banners.

You can find the floormaps in a brochure which you can download from the contact menu.

What I don't like about the new site is that on the arrivals and departures page, they mention just every flight as being scheduled if there is no information about an estimated time or delay. The scheduled arrival/departure time is always metionned on the left, just before the destination. By doing this they add a lot of color to the webpage, but the color differences between scheduled and estimated are so little that you don't have an overview anymore.

Not correct. If you look at the different flights they mention AP or BS.

I too see Aviapartner every time I click on the "details" sign (the little arrow). I'll tell the management when I go back to work on tuesday :)

But the difference between scheduled and expected departure/arrival time is very clear to me.

The little arrow gave indeed Aviapartner, but what I meant is that you have to click on SN or BA or KL and then you will see "afhandeling AP of BS".

We'll make you a deal : you stop abbreviating Brussels Airport into BA, BAC, TBAC or other shorthand, and only use Brussels Airport when you refer to us.
In return, we'll fix the "lost" aircraft type issue. This can take several weeks, but we'll put it on the "to do" list. Promise. We probably can't squeeze it in on the arrivals and departures pages, but there should be enough room in the "tracking" window of each flight. This info is in the airport database, so it can be done.

Thank you for pointing out the handling agent issue. Something seems to be wrong there, we'll look into it.
There seems to be a bug with charter information, too. It's on our list.

In fact there WILL be commercial advertising on the site from now on. But that's not why we built a new website. Main reason for change : the website is now supported by a Content Management System, that allows us to easily and quickly update information on the site, and thus make it more "alive" and directly respond to your needs. Other new features are already scheduled and will be added to the site in the coming months.

About Spotters : the airport DOES appreciate the fact that you're among our biggest fans - and critics. As long as your interests don't conflict with the rules that we have to live with as an international airport, we're happy to help out. We hope the new website can be a nice tool for spotters, too.

PS : it's nice that you mailed us (we'll read it on Monday), but are you saying you suspected the communications people of Brussels Airport of NOT regularly reading Luchtzak? :p

Keep up the good work !

hmmm.... strange. Those plans should be on the site, somewhere. We'll look into that. There are detailed floor plans that help you find the shops and restaurants, though.

Very nice feedback by Brussels-airport indeed !!!

Aircraft type are of interest, but registers (back online) would be just great !
Sooooo, are registers of aircraft also in the database ? :D

Welcome to Luchtzak brussels-airport. It's very nice to see that the team of Brussels Airport is looking at this site and even implementing some ideas mentioned by the members.

We will do our best so that people refer to the airport as Brussels Airport in the future !!!

That's again a very nice thing to hear. :)

Anybody knows what that Airport Online Club is for? I tried to register, but got stuck at the security code, I typed in the letters in the box, but apparently the site doesn't accept it. ** edit: switched from firefox to explorer, now it works
I have the same problem, in Firefox and in IE. It's an old version (6.0) of IE though, since I don't use it unless something would happen to my Firefox. Can this be fixed for Firefox, because I worry more for security issues with IE (especially the older version that I have)? I use only Firefox, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I would love to register for the Airport Online Club, but at the moment it seems impossible.

Greets,

Pieter

Have you read that one in the spotters section ????

"The use of equipment that can monitor aircraft frequencies is illegal and can interfere with the flight instruments."

What a piece of crap... How do they do in AMS, LAX, NRT, LHR,... There must be a lot of interferences !!!!
