We want to fly from Poznan!
Moderator: Latest news team
Poznan is certainly interesting: when I went there for the annual fair I had first to fly to Warsaw; but now I am flying to Wroclaw for the General Assembly of my organisation. And they have plenty of flights, but from a limited number of destinations: Warsaw, Munich and Frankfurt. That seems sufficient to connect to the whole world with the Star Alliance...

Hello
I am sorry for not writing so long... I have been very busy last time.
Unfortunately we don't have many photos from the conference held on 14th September. But the point is it was went very good!
We have given 5.373 petitions to the Airport Authorities in a presence of local media, some politicians and people who came for conference. We have criticised our local authorities (representative was there as well) for their lazyness and slow work...
There were also representatives of airline companies as well
We had a speach of English Baron - Mr. Roy Egerton. He deceided to support us in our campaign. He was saying about possibilities of development of Poznan Airport 8)
The main point is that the campaign is still going on taking new initiatives!
Some people asked us if they could join us and collect petitions in western Ireland!!!
You know that there are many Polish people working and living in UK and Ireland. What is interesting that many of Poles living close to Shannon Airport are those who come from Poznan and its region - Wielkopolska. And they are collecting petitions there!!!
We have called it "Initiative Poznan-Shannon"
and we want to have this connection asap
Today (03.10) we have been presenting results of our analysis and inquiries - they are surprising and very good!!!
Please have a look now on the photos and then I will write you more (we have to translate everything to English!)
We also gave the award for those who won contest for the best sentences promoting flying from Poznan Airport
First 3 persons won 3 double return tickets!!! to:
- Heraklion
- Munich
- Warsaw

check this out 8) yeah

Among 5.373 petitioners we had citizens of 31 countries of the world!!! Thank you very much!
Petitions are still coming! Few days ago we received some new - from Israel and even from Iran!!!
it means that number of countries has risen to 33

hello!

Today low cost airline Wizzair has announced that it will fly from Poznan to Stockholm Skavsta 3 times per week starting from 28th of July 2007!
We are very glad to hear that!
We have been at the conference today which took place at the Airport of Poznan. We gave a letter to representative of Wizzair encouraging them to invest more in Poznan! However first "campaign" route is available now!!! How big was our share in making this connection come true? - I really don't know. But we have been informing Wizzair about the campaign and our analysis. And I think we might have helped a little bit
I think so. So huge THANK YOU to all, who supported the campaign!!!
Go and celebrate today!!!
We are happy to see good job being done now by the Airport authorities. We support all their efforts to develop Poznan's sky
Now we concentrate on other airlines, informing them about campaign and our analysis! Pozna's customers are waiting! The only thing what the companies need to do is just to let them fly!

greetings

We have called it the “Eye” – because the main group is having 21 cities. Next 6 were added cause of their importance for Poznan and Wielkopolska region. The cities from “Eye” are the first destinations which should be operated from Poznan Airport.

There are strong rumours that Aer Lingus will base a further aircraft in Cork next summer allowing them to add three or four new routes. Since they fly Poznan-Dublin and their Cork-Warsaw route is regarded as a great success you could consider directly petitioning them with the results of your survey. Cork currently has connections to Warsaw, Katowice, Gdansk, Krakow and Wroclaw, so there is definitely demand for routes to Poland. Also, none of them are sufficiently close to Wroclaw to significantly eat into demand.
As for Shannon. Clearly, you have links with Ryanair already and they would be the most obvious to operate there. I'm not as familiar with their expansion plans, but I would guess that they will add an extra aircraft to their Shannon base in the latter half of 2007. Again, you need to approach them with figures about the number of people who could use the service.

Ryanair LPL - POZ
Hi there,
Any chance of an update on the campaign?
The latest CAA figures show that Ryanair carried 3325 passengers on the new LPL - POZ route in October. Assuming that all 24 scheduled rotations took place, this gives an average flown load factor of 73,30 %.
This makes it Ryanair's best new route (by load factor) from Liverpool out of the 11 launched last month (Wroclaw was in second place, not far behind).
This is a pretty good start, so let's hope it continues.

happy New Year!
or I should say FLYING NEW YEAR!
small update:
some fresh statistics
Our pages have been vistited:
Polish one: www.chcemylatac.prv.pl by 10.237 persons from 26 domains, including Canadian and Japanese
International one: www.flytopoznan.com by 4.698 persons from 46 domains (even from Mexico, Thailand and Australia
)
We still receive new petitions. Just before Christmass my mail box was occupied with 450 petitions from western Ireland
We are finishing works under touristic texts (this takes a little bit of time but it's almost done) and photos of Poznan and region which will be given to the Airport authorities for "new design" web page - by the way it has been refreshed (finally!) in December and it looks ok: www.poznan-airport.com.pl
We are waiting for their English and German version. We will encourage them to put more languages.
Thank you for keeping eyes on our campaign
greetings
and cheers! all the best in 2007! all the flyiest! (does such expression exist?)

You have to remeber that we already have 2 "Londons" - Luton and Stansted. We also have Frankfurt am Main. But even though people asked in the inquiry have showed London Gatwick or Heathrow (as more "central" airports for London) as a destinations which they need. The same with Frankfurt Hahn.sn26567 wrote:I am surprised to see London and Frankfurt so low on your list.
Considering those facts the results for London and Frankfurt are very good
P.S. People were informed about the destinations which were currently served from Poznan. They had to tell their most wanted destinations, which were unavailiable from Poz in that time.
