BRU 26/11/06 question

Post by Heliflexy »

Hello spotters of Brussels! 8)

I will visit your nice airport tomorrow to see the HBA Tristar,
but for me it`s very important to know where I have to go
to see the departure!
Any ideas? The wind will be south, which runway is normally chosen
by HewaBora in case of southern wind?? 20 or 25R? If they use both
runways, is there a place from which I can see every departure?
When is departure time?
Many questions, i know

Thank you for answers!

Flexy

Hi,

runway 20 will normally be used for t/o, however, the Tristar of HBA made in the past more than 95% of its t/o on the other runway 25R. The pilots requested for this because the 25R is a few hundred meters longer. So the Abelag spot should be the best to catch the Tristar on picture. Estimated time of departure is 1000 local, I saw it seldom with much delays.

If you only want to see the aircraft, the best spot remains near asilum 27bis, or a bit further near the football field of future Champion Leage soccer team "Royal Club Nossegem".

Consider it as one of the last visits of the Tristar, as it will be replaced by an ordinary 767 in December.

Last of the TriStars ?

Post by StudioStef »

I missed it - and it's my favourite airliner !

Called ATIS automated phone this morning, rwy 20 allright, to see it take off in the distance @ rwy 25...

Bummer - should've checked the forum last night.

Was this really the last take-off, or do we get one (or two) more chances ?

tnx,

Stef

And after that ? Operated by another aircraft, or will they discontinue the line ?

As reported earlier, 9Q-CHC will be replaced by a B762 (ex Air Gabon TR-LGH) on FIH-BRU.

Goodevening,
Looks a bit like a standard situation on Sundays (all of course depending the wind-directions) :
Till 5 pm all traffic landing on 25R and departing on 20 although there are exceptions. Hewa Bora (and also Delta) departing on 25R.
Today I made a gamble and I won : SQ Cargo left via 25R :

Goodevening everyone !

I have a few requests for today (26/11).

- Egyptair A330
- RAM B757
- Thomas Cook parked at the old satellite
- From the Brucargo hill, I've seen the top of a white tail, obviously owned by a big aircraft parked in the maintenance area. Does somebody have an idea of the airline/registration ?

In advance, thanks for your kind help !

Greetings, Seb

Probably OE-LMP A310 MapJet, which is parked near Hangar 41 since July already.

rather slow day at BRU today, arrived only after 11hrs, so saw nothing really special, except for these 2 :D both (ex)Virgin Express

OO-VEG with winglets, still in Virgin collours, sorry for the lower quallity, but i had to take this one in counter light, as she got at the last moment clearence to make a visual landing on 25L, while everyting else was on 25R, so a lot of PSP work here to get something "presentable", if i would have driven to the "watertoren", i would have been way to late :? (she was already banking in to very short final) so i shot here from half-way in the fields ;)

OO-VEK in new brussels airlines collours :P ( my first shot of the 737 in new collours )

all by all a pleasent day, aldo traffic was rather low, but finally some good weather made things up

I'm glad I followed your advice - despite ATIS rwy 20 for t/o ànd landing + gusty winds, HBA TriStar took off on 25R as you predicted.

So what happens if t/o is rwy 02 ? They still go for 25R ?

tnx,

Stef
