Indeed, Imam or Imum?

The Imum Coeli (Latin for "bottom of the sky"), IC, is the point in space where the ecliptic crosses the meridian in the north, exactly opposite the Midheaven. That is the Medium Coeli the point which is upper square from ascendant, eg. zenith by modern astronomy vocabulary.
Zenith is the point in the sky directly above an observer.
The point directly below the observer is the observer's nadir*, and is 180° in longitude and in latitude from the observer's zenith.

Mum, chiefly British means Mother.
And since this is LZ's Pub: also a strong beer originally brewed in Brunswick, Germany. German Mumme.

see also imum aka Marcel! There is also a Marcel in French.

Mam, would then be an abbrev. fr. mamma

Imam. Arabic ’imām, leader, imam, from ’amma, to go before, lead
