Post by BMO »

Hi Guys/Girls,

Do you have any idea when the crash took place when you are looking the film on following link?

Where there any passengers on board, or was it a cargo flight?

many thanks

The Tupolev 134, operated on behalf of the Black Sea Fleet Aviation unit (VVS ChF) of the Russian Navy. It was carrying Adm. Vladimir Masorin who was on an inspection trip to the Black Sea Fleet. On takeoff the nr.1 engine failed and caught fire, possibly as a result of a bird strike. Takeoff was aborted but the Tupolev overran the runway. Three navy officers were injured.

Yes it seems the plane was about to rotate as it happened.

But interesting to see on a video. Luckily no one died!!

Isn't the procedure to take off and then directly land when you have past V1 :?:
