New Jetair flights from Ostend
Jetairfly seems to have plans with Ostend next year.
For the summer season Jetair plans two new destinations: Corfu (Mondays from july 2 till august 27) and Kos (Fridays from june 29 till august 31). Futhermore they will increase some frequencies of already existing destinations (three times a week to Alicante and Palma).
This means that every day there will be Jetairfly flights from Ostend next summer. To do so, two planes will be based at Ostend which makes it possible to offer more direct flights and better departure times.
This winter they've have already increased the number of flights to the Canary Islands from two to three.
I knew that new car park they're building in Ostend would mean an upcoming increase of passenger flights.
Same story for Liège by the way: Kos as a new destination, an increase of frequencies (four times a week to Palma and three times a week to Monastir), two planes based at Liège, daily Jetairfly flights during summer.

How many planes will join the actual JAF* fleet ?

No, only the new ICAO code for Jetair Fly. But what about the TUI group ? Wouldn't they demand the name "TUI Airlines Belgium"... What's the deal ?

Not that I want to question you, but what's your source?TUB001 wrote:At the moment, 4 737-400, 2 737-800, 1 767-300ER and 1 Fokker 100.
2 new 737-800 should join the fleet in 2007.
Regards,
Are you sure 2 B737-800...? rather expensive...
Nevertheless, It would be great to see new airplanes at a Belgian carrier

When I'm read the press documents of Jetairfly itselfs on 13.11.06 they speak indeed about recruiting 100 employees, starting 2 January 2007 but not about adding some extra planes to the current fleet.
When I'm reading the posts in this topic it seems there are already in a very early stage contradictions in what those aircrafts will be: B737-800 or B757.

First of all you have to look what Jetair is offering in destinations. What could be a possible destination for the B757? I don't think a transatlantic route is in the pipeline. They used their own B767 for that.
I'm thinking about the spanisch costa's, Turkey and maybe Cabo Verde. For this destination they are using TAP. Why not flying direct ex-BRU?
This of course only when are going to decide to use a B757.
PS: on the Brussels Airport site, job applications, you can see that Jetairfly is looking - for a long time already - for pilots on B737. So I'm waiting when there is an official announcement.

To make things clear:
- 2x 737-800 will join the fleet at the beginning of the summer season
- 1x 737-500 will join the fleet at the beginning of the summer season
The 737-500 will be an ex Thomsonfly machine, no idea about the 738's (seem to be new ones, looking at the other post). That's why JAF is recruiting pilots and cabin crew at the moment.

It's true about the 737-500,
about the -800's, 1 in April and 1 in June will join us, comming from Seattle (read: brand new).
An extra F100 that would come during the summer season but that is not yet confirmed.
The B757 rumour was linked to Jet4You but it has been really quiet about that for some time...
greetz!
