In contrary , to the difficulty of finding a used B777 , it is not very hard to
find a used A330-300, but the ever reoccuring PROBLEM is : PRICE.

Brussels beeing the Capital of Europe, Brussels Airlines should have some
kind of prestige. But they seem rather greedy, which does not pay-off in
the end.

I must say, that sometimes I even wonder if they want to keep it alive in
the longrun.

If you compare the merger size of VEX/SNBA, it is rather negligable to
US or Asian standars.

I am disappointed in them not to upgrade the prestige.

And in the mean while, they are throwing 767's around your ears at very good prices. But I guess that's not prestigious enough for sn (as if a passengers would care...).
Keeping the avro's but willing to have a modern 330 fleet doesn't add up for me...

Isn't the reason for not taking 767's just type commonality? Adding a 767 would introduce additional costs for maintenance, pilot training, ... ?

Best,
Wim.

767's by the load

They could easily secure half a dozen of used Boeing 767-300ERs for the medium term if they wanted but mind you that they aren't coming in cheap either. Sure, you can get your hands on a 767-200, 200ER or 300 rather easily. But for well groomed 300ERs that's another story.

Usually, when leasing rates are judged too high by an airline, they tend to buy the planes. And if an airline is not in a position to buy even one plane, then I don't see how it can hope to upgrade its entire fleet.

I'm sure they could get early slots on 6 brand new 767-300ERs (or heck, why not 400ERs since they don't fly that far fetched anyway!) with Signature interior that would have a great reselling value once they take delivery of some sweet 787s. Boeing would certainly offer a good deal.

I think the reason why they don't go for the 767-300 is cargo. An A330-300 can take much more cargo in the belly than a 767-300.
Cargo has always been important on the flights to Africa.

What about the A310 and how deos it compare with the B767?

I am talking about the A310 because I suppose their are commonalities with the A330 and also the cargo space is not bad.

But i believe it's outdated and too costly to operate ?

Anyway they have to decide and the B767 has proved robustness flexibility on medium and long routes.
