BRU - African Heads of State expected 15-17/11/2006

Post by BMMP »

Hi All,

The Governance Forum - European Development Days will take place at Brussels on 15, 16 and 17 November. This event will be attended by numerous African Heads of State to discuss European development cooperation with Africa. Highlight of the conference will be the Presidential Plenary Session, held on Friday 17 November, which will be attended by the presidents of Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Niger, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Togo and Uganda, the vice-presidents of Burundi and The Gambia, and the prime ministers of Ethiopia and Swaziland.
I guess we can expect a few interesting airplanes from Africa during these days...

Best regards,
Gilles

Good morning!

So I understand that right that the 707 is departing on Saturday 18th November at 0900loc?
That would be a good reason for visiting BRU on Saturday :)

Hi,

Suppose they'll be parked at abelag. So can we expect arrival at 25R or is 25L possible, if the runwayconfig is as usuall.

Thanks,

Lamal

Why does the QR A345 A7-HHH depart at 16th of November, while there is a meeting with the Emir of Qatar on Friday :?:

And of course they managed to park the beauty in the most "un-picturable" position! At least when you have no tarmac entrance like me...

Hello,

Is there already an ETD known for the Qatari A340 on the 16th?

Thanks in advance,
Nik

Seems the Emir has not enough with his A340, so more little toys on the 15th in form on an A330.
The A340 will go to Melsbroek for official ceremony, afterwards presumable towed to Abelag.

Goodmorning,
Was able to take a picture of the 707 yesterday morning. You can also have an idea where they parked the plane and looking at the expected traffic, the plane will normally stay obstructed until everything goes out.

Hi,

noticed on the site of Brussels Airport that there are two A332's expected at 1730. QR 007 and QR 008 are mentionned apart? Will there really be two A332's?

And will teh A345 arrive at 25R, since it's also mentionned in the arrivals.

If someone knows, please let me know. This to avoid the painfull thing of standing at the wrong runway.

Thanks,

Lamal

Lamal,

this is (almost) never known beforehand, spotting isn't an exact science you know! My best advice is to listen to ATC, callsign for the 345 is 'Amiri One'. The 332 (only one A7-HJJ) will be 'Amiry Seven'.

Till 24th there are works in progress at end of 25R, so everything lands on 25L (daylight period for Mon to Fri), so no doubt for rwy choice. This can be found via Notam which I posted before.

Two unknown Antonov

Post by BelgianBoy »

At noon, there was a sand ans spinach Antonov twin at Melsbroek near the turbine test rigs.

At the same time a white top Antonov twin was parged on the apron in the middle of nowhere in front of the old tower.

Serial numbers would be greatly appreciated.

Thks in advance

Willy
