MEA orders 8 airbus

4 wide bodies (330) and 4 narrows (321) options for another 5. deal said to be worth 900 mill USD. deal finalized before end of 2006. deliveries 2008 and 2009. The deal was to be inked summer 2006 but was delayed by the war. MEA expected to post profits in 2006 despite the war and closure of its hub for over 40 days. This will be the 4th consecutive year that this airline posts profits.
