What does this mean?

You won't find a cheaper direct flight on another airline's website than your booked b.light ticket at www.brusselsairlines.com , that's guaranteed. So you can always feel confident when booking your b.light ticket online with Brussels Airlines.

How does it work?

If you have already made your b.light booking on www.brusselsairlines.com and find a better online offer from another airline for a flight leaving within 30 minutes of your Brussels Airlines plane from the same airport to the same destination, we'll refund the difference. Please complete our claim form.

Save a screenshot of the fare quote page where you found the cheaper fare (as we will request this) and submit it to us within the hour after booking.

Brussels Airlines will evaluate your request and react within 3 calendar days and, if appropriate, make the reimbursement within 30 days on the credit / debit card used when paying your Brussels Airlines b.light ticket

Claim checklist - please ensure all criteria are met, otherwise the claim will be invalid.

* You need to save a screen shot of the fare quote page from the website of the other airline where you found the cheaper fare (detail on how to do this is below)
* The fare must be for the same European route, same date of travel , same airport of origin and destination, same scheduled hour of departure (with a 30min variation before or after your booked Brussels Airlines flight)
* Your claim must be made online and within the hour following your online booking with Brussels Airlines
* The fare must be quoted in the similar currency as your Brussels Airlines booked fare
* The fare must include all taxes and surcharges

How do I take a screenshot?

If you find a cheaper online fare that meets the criteria mentioned in the Brussels Airlines Terms & Conditions press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard and paste this on a blank document by clicking on the "paste" icon on your tool bar.

It was like that on the Airbuses with SN Brussels as well.
True, but not on the AVRO's. There are only 3 A319's that need repainting (well, two more now). But all 32(?) AVRO's certainly need repainting of both the blue bar and the new text above the windows.

Between now and the time the planes will need repainting they can easily use stickers. Hardly anyone will notice.
Not on the AVRO's, hence the blue bar. Or they should stick a giant blue sticker over "SN Brussels Airlines", let's hope they don't.

Not to mention the TV aircraft that need a thick layer of fresh paint to cover the bright red color.
You do realise they remove the old paint before they put on the new paint, right?
I hope they do. If not, the take-off weight would dangerously increase after a few paintjobs :)

It's just a shame that some of the VEX 734's and the SN A333's have been repainted in the past months. Especially the new livery on the 333's is still fresh and goodlooking. Bit a waste of money here.

In the timetable on the new website all flights in summer 2007 are now "SN" flights. Even the ones operated by 737 planes are in the timetable with SN flight numbers. So they obviousuly will keep the SN numbers for all flights and TV will simply disappear. Again, not too ambitious the changes here as well

Le nouveau BRUSSELEIR est arrivé! like the beaujolais, al lot of publicity but nothing special.
A digrace they abused the 5th anniversery of the bankruptcy of Sabena to get attention from the media.

From the press release:
Until 24 March 2007 flights will be
operated under the brand names SN Brussels Airlines and Virgin Express, and on the 25
March the first Brussels Airlines flight will take to the skies.

Now this looks like a real plan to attract passengers. This is more important for possible passengers than the color of the aircraft tail.

What kind of "ambition" would you expect from a flightnumber? I'm happy they choose tu use one single code, and SN would serve better than TV IMHO.

Some guys really make me laugh here. As if an SN or TV before the flightnumber would make any difference for the customer.
What did you expect guys, please tell, I want to know.

I think the new product is promising. Stop with those references to Sabena all the time. Sabena left the skies 5 years ago (unfortunately) and there is nothing we can do about it!

Why not? If done well, hardly anyone will notice!

The plan to attract more passenger by offering both the flex and light products on all flights looks interesting, and might prove to be a winner. I was hoping for something at least hinting at even a consideration of some moderate expansion though. There's not a singe word on that in the entire press release...

We were explained that they won't make the same mistake like Sabena. Expanding, buying more planes without knowing what to do with them. I do agree with this strategy. They are still looking for a 4th 330 for Africa and N-America.

Cheers

Well said, but why not just keep the "SN Brussels Airlines" name and the S-Tail if the flight numbers will still be "SN" :?: (What would have been perfectly alright for me :) )

If you start to change things, than you should do it properly. And I am sorry, but

(1) repaint the whole fleet basically just to present a new "b" on the tail,
(2) make a hell of a secret about the "new" name and than just drop the two letters "SN" and than
(3) keep afterwards exactly this two letters  for the flightnumbers

does not sound very logical  for me.

I wish the "new" airline all the best and I will certainly continue to fly with them, whatever the ****ing livery or flight number will be, as long the staff is still friendly with me 8) and they fly me on time to and from Brussels :!:

If it's good, it should be said..... THE NEW WEBSITE LOOKS GREAT! Offcourse the logo fits in very well here. On the A319 this is not the case :-(

Nice to get a list with all the destinations in the pdf file, but how much destinations will they actually fly to? I see Toronto etc, to which they don't fly themselved. Will they start flying with their 330's again to the US or will it just remain the existing codeshare with AA. Hoped to hear from a fleet renewal for the avro's and a sollution for operating 737's next to 319's but no...
Anyway, good luck to the airline, I hope they can represent Belgium, sorry, Brussels :) good!

As to expansion, 3 interesting facts from the staff briefing:

The aim for next year is to transport 5.5 milion pax, or a growth of +5% over the combined SN/TV pax figures, of which about 1/3 (close to 2 milion) should be bflex!

SN is again actively in the market for a 4th long haul widebody plane (most certainly an A330) and with that they want to expand across the Atlantic as soon as they get it. I guess this means SN is the 'Belgian airline' which accorsing to sources with transport Canada has asked for traffic rights between Brussels and Montreal as from next summer...

The idea of an African base is not abandonned, yet the Camair project is as it has shown to be too unstable politically to commit to.

They're poised to loose the seasonal business traveller

Post by BrightCedars »

I read on the site's FAQ that lounge access is not complimentary to b.flex passengers that do not hold a Platinum or Gold card. A fee will be applicable. Surely a cold shower for those passengers who travel occasionally in comfort and expect such a perk to be part of the ticket. Hope the price difference between them and other airlines will be great enough to cancel this effect.

Other than that, the site has a few bugs, no downloadable timetable, no memorabilia. Ah, and the airline doesn't seem to have anything to announce about fleet, routes or whatever else.
