It is no surprise, Japan always are American friendly, and they want to be and they have to be... i mean it is historical reason that they dislike Chinese, and with Airbus working closer with China, you think they'll buy an Airbus plane?
Let's say Airbus makes much more superior and clearly better planes than Boeing at the moment, Japan will probably be the last (if they ever will) switch to Airbus...
ANA did buy A320 family planes, and JAS had Airbus planes as well, even now as part of JAL. Surely, the Japanese are more closely tied to America, but it's not as one-sided as you think.

While I don't believe there is some conspiracy here, ANA is getting rid of their A320s and replacing them with 73G and 73GER to become an all Boeing customer. I'm sure they got a great deal from Boeing to make that conversion.
