Today Flanders Airlines has started his second season of operations, the Autumn/Winter Season 2006-2007, including the release of the new timetables of Flanders Airlines, Flanders Sun and our newest division, Flanders Snow
Together with the new season, some announcements were made. An overview:
*Flanders Airlines purchases 2 Airbus 319’s
Great news for Flanders Airlines! We, together with ACBA, have just placed an order at Airbus for two brand new Airbus 319’s.
At Flanders is expected around the 1st of April 2007, Flanders Airlines first birthday! Airlines there was a strong request for larger airplanes on our short haul routes. The Airbus 319 was overall the best choice. We acquired them via Finance Lease (Dry Lease).The two airplanes (OO-FAM and OO-FAN) will be able to transport 132 pax in comfortable leather seats and are equipped with LCD-screens all over the cabin. The routes that the two airplanes will fly aren’t announced yet, but together with these airplanes will certainly come some new destinations...The arrival of the two airplanes is expected around the 1st of April 2007, Flanders Airlines first birthday!
Together with the purchase of the 319’s we released a painting contest.
One of the two planes (OO-FAN) will be painted in a special billboard livery, which will be the winning painting of our contest! Rules:
- Everybody can submit 2 painting: 1 billboard livery (OO-FAN) and 1 standard Flanders Airlines livery (OO-FAM). The billboard livery must be a Belgian one.
- Flanders Airlines pilots will be able to vote for their favorite billboard, the winning billboard livery will be flying for Flanders Airlines!
- If the management likes one of the standard liveries, this will maybe become the new Flanders Airlines livery in the future which will be painted on all our fleet!

- Please send a few screenshots (and if you can: the psd-files / all the textures) to flandersairlines@gmail.com, including your motivation. The submitted paintings will be put on our website.
Deadline: paintings can be submitted till the 18th of February 2007!
*First Codeshare agreement for Flanders Airlines
Another great announcement for Flanders Airlines! We have signed a contract with our first codeshare partner, Azurjet! This Greek airline has started operations a month ago, operating from Thessaloniki with a fleet of Airbus, BAE and Fokker aircraft. They fly to domestic as international destinations, among which Antwerp. Antwerp is connected with a daily flight to Thessaloniki and Antwerp, operated by a comfortable Fokker 70. These flights can be booked at Flanders Airlines.
