JAT to Hamburg and a new agreement with EK

Post by JAT_boy_BEG »

A new agreement with EK, JAT will fly to HAM where the flight connects to JFK with EK. This is a similar agreement in which JAT and EK have re-signed in Dubai earlier this year with JAT transferring it's Australia bound passengers onto EK flights and vice versa, with the agreement lasting 4 years.

Earlier this year, JAT had tried to obtain licences to fly to JFK and YYZ, but only received charter rights from the Canadian government and flights have been postponed.

EK will fly their B777's on the route DXB-HAM-JFK vice versa daily commencing on the 29th of October. JAT will fly their B733's on the route BEG-HAM-BEG 3 times a week commencing November 21st on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

This is good news but it would be better if they were actually in New York with their own aircrafts (but I know the whole story and why they are not there)

yeah i know, but it isn't JAT fault. Hopefully, with a new minister and a new CEO for JAT, we might see JAT back into N/America by next year. They are looking for ZAG and PUY, but who knows what will happen and if it would happen. 7N was denied licences by the Croatian government to fly to ZAG.

this was supposed to have happened already. Hopefull, some changes will be made with a new CEO for JAT which is expected in a month or two and some new minister in parlaiament.

JAT has posted some stuff about the JAT/EK flights:

- promotional fares to JFK will be 295 Euros for a return flight ex taxes on the route BEG-HAM-JFK (until December 14th)
- In Hamburg, to ease passengers, a special JAT bus will shuttle passengers from the JAT flight to the gate of the Emirates flight bound for JFK and vice versa, eliminating the problem of finding one's way around and communicating in a foreign language in a large international airport in short time.
- Onboard the EK connection, Serbian flight attendants working for Emirates will be serving the Serbian speaking passengers bringing non English speaking passengers at ease.
- The flight will be with modern and new B777 a/c providing passengers with much comfort, video animations, superb service and extendable seats.

I believe JAT had a code share with Uzbekistan Airways a little while ago going JFK/BEG/TAS..and before that I'm not certain if it was a code share or not but I think Aerosvit was routed JFK/BEG/KBP...still it would be better to have an actual JAT aircraft here again...
