Iberia launches an LCC: Clickair
Moderator: Latest news team
Last week EC-ICR (cn 240) received the Clickair colors at Madrid Airport.
The ex Iberia A320 is the second who will join the Clickair fleet.
Sunday is D-day for Clickair.
First flight sunday will be the flight 1001 Barcelona - Sevilla 6:00.
Does someone know what will be the IATA code ?
The Spanish press is not really positive about Clickair, so I'm very curiuos how they will do .

November maybe?
I do not why but for some weeks I have the feeling that the new
routes should be announced in November but I don't know why I think that. Maybe it is because I read someone saying that.
What I find anyway quite astonishing is that through very different
forums in the net you can read about the new destinations and even the
starting date!
I think some of this information maybe in Amadeus but I could not get it.
In CATAIR.CAT, as un unofficial fansite of clickair what we do is to surf
the net searching for this kind of information and we put in our site in
"nuevos destinos":

Needless to say that we can not verify this information.

new routes have been announced
Luchtzak was the first place I visited when I began working on a fansite about an airline (in this case clickair) so that I am happy to bring the news here in English that tomorrow 17th October 2006 clickair begins selling tickets for new destinations starting next year:

I imagine that in some minutes or hours this information will be in
the clickair official site: www.clickair.com
I just read it in the Spanish digital press.

So Clickair will fly to destinations that are not longer profitable for Iberia ?
On some destinations they will fly more than Iberia now. Some are new destinations.
The creation of Clickair is not so good for Iberia connection passengers.
In the past I could go from Brussels to Sevilla, Malaga via Barcelona or Madrid, now I can only go to these destinations via Madrid.
If every passenger goes via Madrid the fares are going upwards.

CLICKAIR AND IBERIA
This is what some people suspected.
That clickair would fly to destinations that were not profitable to Iberia.
Some people are very suspicious of clickair at least in Barcelona and so it is the case that the site I created for fans of clickair (www.catair.cat) it is now opened to everybody interested in clickair even if with a very critical point of view.
I wonder what will finally happen with clickair. I hope it does not have
the bad reputation that Iberia has between some people.

MILANO - VALENCIA (OR MALAGA?)
Yesterday you could read that there would be flights to Milano
but in the website you can not book the flight (at least at 11:50 GMT on
October 17th 06) as Milano is not on the list.
Nevertheless, and that's the reason I write this ...
I have found that if you go to the destinations and you
look at the map of Europe you will see Milano.
I put the mouse there and there was a flight to Málaga!
Anyway, I suppose we will know soon what is going on ...

let's hope it is not a mistake
It seems strange though.
I do not know much about how things go with planes
but I just thought the following:
Because in Seville there must be also planes coming from other places,
for example BCN,
maybe they use a plane which landed from Barcelona (there is one at 11:20 but to much time not to be used ...) and make the
flight from Seville to LHR.
And then with the plane coming from LHR they used it to make a flight
from Seville to BCN (there is one leaving at 3 pm)
I hope it is not a mistake.
Some minutes ago I looked at the webpage and Milano continues like
yesterday: it only appears on the route map and connecting with Malaga!
In www.catair.cat I tried to make a timetable
http://www.geocities.com/catalancat/cat ... debcn.html of all the flights of clickair (for the moment only the ones connected to barcelona)
and other airlines having the same routes so that that of the plane problem Seville-LHR could be checked quickly but I still have not updated the new destinations.
