None of the routes to be announced are similar to Easyjet Madrid routes.
Ryanair have been in negotiations with Madrid Barajas for months and months. This decision to base aircraft in Madrid was made a long time ago, ever before Easyjet announced it's Madrid base.

I checked the destinations map on the Ryanair site and their will be flights from Madrid to Porto, Faro, Shannon, Dublin, East-Midlands, Bournemouth Paris Bauvais, Billund, Charleroi, Oslo Torp, Eindhoven, Marseille, Göteborg and Malmö. 14 destinations!

Charleroi - Madrid is available as from the 22th november 2006.
Fares starting at 22,55 euro.

I suppose that Madrid will be operated by a 737 based at Barajas airport
looking at the timetable:

MAD-CRL FR5462 12:45-15:20
CRL-MAD FR5463 15:54-18:10

Bajaras is a big airport with 4 runways and severel terminals. Will FR be able to keep the 25 min turnaround?

You know that FR flies to LGW wich is a single poerating APT and a congestioned one.
DUB is now becomming a big apt to, so FR has to fly more huge apts to grow!

I did a 23 min turn around in Amsterdam Schiphol last week which is even bigger than MAD, so it's possible, although you can't compare spain with the netherlands

I am very surprised of new MAD route:

1) No route to London
2) No route to Italy
3) No route to Germany
4) No route to Morocco and Canary Island that from MAD would have been a great success!

From Ryanar press release:
Ryanair’s enormous popularity in Spain has delivered unparalleled growth and today it operates:

108 routes to/from Spain
17 Spanish airports
2 Spanish bases in Madrid and Barcelona
11 based aircraft
Delivering 9M passengers p.a.

It report that now they are 11 plane based in Spain: 7 in GRO and 3 in MAD. And the last one, where?

I wonder how long before Eindhoven is a base.

It has 8 routes now, which is more than Cork (which admittedly was only made a base to screw up EasjJet) and is fractionally less than Bremen (9 routes) and Stockholm (11 routes).

This article briefly mentions why plans for an Ryanair Eindhoven base are not for the immediate:
http://www.omroepbrabant.nl/news.aspx?id=70440

i.e. the limited operating hours of Eindhoven airport during the weekend.

Likely a whole lot of things about noise, movements, residents, military flights at Eindhoven, blah blah. But hopefully all these restrictions are getting sorted out, and Eindhoven will be a base sooner rather than later.

Indeed, Eindhoven closes too early for FR's planes to return to the base. Don't know if it's only in weekends or also weekdays...
