Olympic airlines flights summer 2006

Post by Johan V »

Trip report: Olympic airlines. OA 148 (BRU -> ATH) and OA 145 (ATH ->BRU)

09 July 2006; OA 148; departing 19.45; arriving: 23.55.

Super!!! This summer to Greece again. We (I, my sister and my mother) went to the airport Zaventem of Brussels: we checked in; we went to drink a coffee and went to the gate.
The plane was there yet. It was a Boeing 737-400 named STAGEIRA. We boarded in the aircraft and took our seats. The very nice crew this day was composed by two men and three women. It was also the day of the final mundial France – Italy.
So a passenger asked: “Will we see the match on the screens?” and the stewardess said: “No, but the captain will inform us the results during the flight” .
When we departed (on time) we saw on the TV the safety instructions.
During the flight the crew served us our meal and said “kali sas oreksi”; what means “bon appetit” in French .Thee and coffee arrived later.
I would like to see the galley because I’m interested in the job of cabin crew. So, I asked it:
- “ Sorry, miss? “
- “ yes”
- “Is it possible to see the galley when you have the time?”
- “Yes, I will say you when you can come “
- “OK, thank you…”
I was happy. An our and a half later I asked to the stewardess if I could come now but she completely ignored me. So I decided to go by myself in the back to the galley. The curtain was open and I saw a stewardess. I asked her to see the galley and she did me enter. She immediately explained me all the things of the galley. It’s very fine there! She was very kind. I was very satisfied. After exploring the galley and said to her “thank you” I returned to my seat. All the crew members were very kind.
When we landed the captain said “Ladies and gentlemen, the mundial champion is … Italy!
When I disembarked I waved with my hand to the stewardess that showed me the galley. She did it too with a smile.
THIS IS THE BEST FLYGHT IN WHICH I’VE EVER BEEN!!!

Flight: 9, 9/10

06 August 2006; OA 145 ; departing: 09.10 ; arriving: 11.50

On this sunny day we went early to El. Venizelos airport. There, we checked in quickly, passed by the duty free shops and we went to the gate. There, we had a little delay due to the late arrival of the aircraft which was the boeing 737-400 named Olynthos sx-bkb.
When we boarded we were greeted by the fine crew and took our seats. The cabin crew was composed by 4 women and a man. The aircraft cabin was very clean.
We finally departed and I was a little sad because of the finishing of the holidays. By the window I could see by a fine weather the beach; Athens; the mountains… wow!
Later, our breakfast arrived; thee and coffee too.
I wanted too see the galley a second time and went to the back. There, I saw two cabin crew members discussing on the last seats and I didn’t want to interrupt them and went to the galley. There a stewardess opened the curtain. She did me enter and I saw it again; nice.
I went back to my seat and a few seconds later we landed by a very cloudy weather.
So we disembarked and went to home!...

Nice second report, Johan.

Did you make any pictures of your flight or Athens airport?
