Much is happening and being planned for JAT.
- It seems that the UNMIK have given JAT the "green light" for JAT to restart flights between Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport and Pristina. Pristina is said to be JAT's next secondary hub where they will fly to a few destinations. Many tourists agencies in Pristina have been asking for the return of JAT to Pristina. unconfirmed: flights will re-start towards the end of the year.
- JAT is said to have been given the "green light" to resume flights between Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport and Hamburg. Other destinations set to open include Bucharest Otopeni, Sofia, Banja Luka and Pula, and is also hoping to increase frequencies to Sarajevo, Tirana, Dubai and Skoplje.
- confirmed: Jat will go daily to Dubai as of April 2007 unconfirmed: with B735.
- Confirmed: JAT will fly via Ohrid enroute to Dubai when the 2007 summer timetable comes to effect. This is to encourage Macedonian passengers from Australia to fly JAT to Macedonia. OS, the quickest airline so far to transfer Australian passengers to Macedonia takes approximately 28 hours to do so, where as Emirates and JAT will do it in around 20. unconfirmed: the routing will go as follows: BEG-OHD-DXBvv (2 p/w), BEG-BEY-DXBvv (5 p/w). Macedonian aviation borad has asked for BEG-SKP-DXB flights.
- JAT is said to be closing a few of their least profitable offices located outside of Serbia.
This is just the major developments. More news and confirmations of routings, aircrafts, destinations etc will be next week when JAT have thier expansion meeting in Belgrade.
note: There has been a rumour around that EK will open flights to BEG with A330's on January 1st 2007 when Serbia's open skies policy takes effect. This is not true as Emirates signed an agreement with JAT in July 2006 that JAT will connect passengers to Australia/New Zealand bound Emirates flights, and Emirates will send Serbia (and soon Macedonia) bound passengers with JAT. The agreement will last 4 years. rumour source: http://www.airliners.net/discussions/ge ... #ID2997334

it seems you haven't read the article properly.world wrote:A B737/500 hasnt got the range to fly with a full passenger load, nonstop with the required reserves from Belgrade to Dubai, not only that its not economical to fly 130 passengers on the B735 for 5 hours to Dubai.
You have a think about that one Mr. Jatboy!

I have read the article sir!
You still havent answered my question?
Has the B735 got the range to fly nonstop on a 5 to 6 hour
flight with a full passenger load AND carrying the legal reserves
on a flight from OHRID to DUBAI?
I doubt very much that the B735 OR the B733 can do this!
Can someone please have a look at the map where Ohrid and
Dubai are AND please tell me realistically if a B735 can
make this journey with a full passenger load (130 pax) and reserves!
The answer is defineltly a big NO!!!

thats all good then. There is definately a demand for flights between Australia and Macedonia, and with JAT taking a stop in OHD, they have made a very good move in taking advantage of the demand.earthman wrote:OHD-DXB is 1968nm, plane has a range of 2402nm fully loaded. It could fly beyond DXB.
