It is a confirmed order. 20 for sure and 20 as an option as a backup for the A350 in case Airbus delays them once more.

The first 777 will be put online in November 2007.

The 777 will be the backbone of the QR Long Haul Fleet. The A340-600HGW will be flying the Ultra Long Haul routes and the A330 will become more and more the Main fleet on MH routes thanks to its huge cargo space.

The A320 fleet will do intra gulf, sub continent and will be used as an initial fleet to discover newly openend routes...

The A380 is a pure prestige project. Its a way to get some free publiciyu as launch customer etc...QR does not really need those mastodonts

QR is aiming for a fleet of 120+ Airplanes by 2012

anybody heared about new rumours that QR would start flying to EBBR finally?

I was thinking at the same question. I have read that they open a new route to Dar Es Salaam and fly this with an A319.

But when will they open a line to BRU? Will they wait until largers aircrafts coming into the fleet?

what we know here is that its a highly political decision, linked to the opening of a Belgian embassy in Qatar.

This should be done shortly....

Another problem is the severe shortage of manpower in the Gulf to fly all these new routes.

new recruitment strategies are being devlopped for this....
