Why would anyone bother to modify a 747 for a movie? I bet most people outside of the aviation geeks on this forum wouldn't even recognize the difference.

Wonder if Boeing ever looked at the old B47 configuration for the 777 when the 2 engines V 4 was an issue?

With all the CG special effects, I wonder why they even bothered to create a modified 747 instead of just altering a plain one after shooting the scenes?
