Since Sukhoi is developping its regional jet , and now Mitsubishi announced the possibility of developping another regional jet, why is Bombardier not moving on with the C-series ????

Since Sukhoi is developping its regional jet , and now Mitsubishi announced the possibility of developping another regional jet, why is Bombardier not moving on with the C-series ????

Simple answer, the program was dropped and Bombardier decided to focus on what it has to offer right now.

Bombardier after lengthy and in depth investigation of the prospective market for this size jet, came to the conclusion that there was not sufficient interest from the airline industry to justify the expense of producing the " C " series.

And in view of the renewed interest in turbo props it would seem to have been a sound decision. That being said they still retain a fairly large group of people to continue development and planning should the market change.
