Crash Iran Airtour EP-MCF in Mashhad, Iran.

Volgens de Iraanse staatstelevisie zijn er nadat het Russische passagiersvliegtuig TU-154 met tailnummer EP-MCF van Iran Airtour vuur vatte na de mislukte landing in Mashhad in noordoost Iran 80 van de 147 passagiers om het leven gekomen. Geen van crewleden kwam om het leven. Het vuur is inmiddels onder controle. Een brand aan een wiel zou aan de oorzaak van de crash liggen. Het vliegtuig brak een tiental meter voor de tail en brandde in het voorste/middenste gedeelte over een lengte van een 15-tal meter. Het lijkt ten einde van de runway terecht zijn gekomen net voor een greppel.

Oui encore 1 TU154 le 4ème pour Iran Air Tours depuis 1993.

Aux dernières nouvelles 29 morts....

Twenty-eight people are confirmed killed and 50 others injured in the tragic inident.

The TU-154 was on a domestic flight from the southern port city of Bandar Abbas to the holy city of Mashhad and was attempting to land when one of its front tires burst causing the plane to tilt before hitting nearby barriers and bursting into flames.

It carried 148 passengers and crew on board. All 11 flight crew, including the captain, survived.

If it continues like that, the UN will not have to put a air travel ban to/from Iran in place. They won't have any more airplanes.
