A Taipei nightclub held a party on August 19 called "Airline Hostesses' Night," and hostesses were wearing what appeared to be China Airlines uniforms stood on counters and engaged in lap dancing to entertain customers, to the ire of the airline.
Although the uniforms worn by the nightclub's girls had no marks or symbols that clearly identified China Airlines, and only if the hostesses claimed they were from China Airlines could the company demand compensation, says a lawyer.
The airline said that if the nightclub's use of the outfits ended up harming the corporate image of China Airlines, it would take the matter to court.
Nightclub owner Chu Chieh said dressing up the hostesses as flight attendants or nurses* was done simply to have some fun and proved successful, increasing the number of customers at the club by 40%.
I was wondering, if airlines could increase the number of customers by 40%, ... but I don't know exactly how...
*Nurses were also outraged after the same club held a "Nurses' Night" on Saturday.
Euh, I was wondering too, if hospitals could increase the number of customers by 40%, ... but I don't know exactly how...

I travelled with Thai's new lie-flat seats from Melbourne to BKK, and I must say that I found the seats to be very enjoyable. The entertainment system was wonderful. Full on-demand videos etc with play/pause/rewind etc. The in seat massage function was nice, so was the adjustable lumbar support. Overall, great seats (much better that SAS's new lie-flat in business class), great entertainment - not so good service.
