Where do these ignoramuses come from?
Not all the airlines react so, regi.regi wrote:A very embarresing case ....
We just lost the rich south asian clientele.
Some airlines have educated, 'cultivated' staff, that are able to show respect for other cultures.
These airlines will of course see this clientele more often. And by the way with them on board they will show to all cultures and relligions, that aviation is transport, a neutral BUSINESS.
IATA is adapting to meet the new needs. However, one thing has not changed - the necessity to provide service. IATA helps the airlines to achieve this objective as they meet the new demands of the 21st century. In large measure, the airlines have created a modern, interdependent world over the past 50 years.
Why don't I hear IATA not more now: if some airlines cannot recruit* educated, 'cultivated' staff, IATA should work to provide and help with working guidelines.
The air transport has been hijacked by non-professionals to the business: as there are screeners, air marshalls and last but not least politicians.
The real professionals are getting frustrated and hindered in doing their job well.
btw Did you know that IATA was founded in Havana, Cuba, in April 1945 as inter-airline cooperation in promoting safe, reliable, secure and economical air services - for the benefit of the world's consumers.
* NW is outsourcing its cabin staff, to save money. What can one expect then? Yes, the cheapest they can get, indeed: ones that fight with passengers, slap old ladies and overreact when they see other cultures. Where do these ignoramuses come from, may I ask?.
This was a clean call, better safe then sorry.
The group ran in all together into the aircraft very late and were handing over several times labtops and cell phones.
After the cabin crew requested several times during the flight to sit down, on which nobody responded, 4 air marshalls came into action and surounded the group.
This caused a situation in the cabin which made the captain decided to go back to Amsterdam.
For the record, also the dutch authorities are allowed to shoot down a airplane in case of a terrorist attack.

it was meant cynically, but then again, reading what they did "according to the reports" they were annoying and noisy anyways....luchtzak wrote:Ahum, if you have read the entire topic they have hardly done anything wrong on that flight! there is something like social conduct [ooooh scary word.. sounds like socialism..] when you are locked inside with a big group of people. some people just never understand that because they tend to be in their own world, not regarding other people around them.
I'm just as cynical as regi. I would hope that there is at least one air marshal per transatlantic flight.A318 wrote:It is.............sorry to destroy your ideas.regi wrote:4 air marshalls, come on, please, this can't be serious.
4 air marshalls on an Amsterdam to India flight sounds like security is not being deployed to the more high risk flights.
By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly an airplane?
